(Shrinkwrap has a torn corner. Cover has a small cutout hole.)
This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Alvino Rey's swinging "wow-wow" guitar sounds a lot like Esquivel's use of pedal steel, and this album's a great bunch of work in that vein, with swinging strident arrangements that mix the guitar and baritone sax solos. Great hip bachelor pad ... LP, Vinyl record album
A groovy moogy pop classic! Hot Butter weren't the most groundbreaking moog combo, but they certainly were the most successful. The title cut of this one, their version of Gershon Kingsley's "Popcorn", was used in a gazillion commercials and TV shows during the 70s – and was ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the best non-Winchester albums from the team of Ferrante & Teicher – not as crazy as some of their work, but still with some good elements of the piano trickery that made them famous. Titles include "Out Of This World", "East Of The Sun", "Over The ... LP, Vinyl record album
The hardest to find of the David McCallum albums on Capitol – and like the others, a very nice set of moody tunes with arrangements by HB Barnum, and hip production by David Axelrod! Axelrod gets in some very nice moments on the set, slipping in some dark passages underneath simple pop tunes ... LP, Vinyl record album
Groovy stuff from Sandy Nelson – one of his best albums ever! Despite the title, this isn't exactly the Latin soul adventure you might think – but it is a nice batch of drum-heavy instrumentals, with a good soul boogaloo beat to them. The best tracks are the ones with "boogaloo&qu ... LP, Vinyl record album
A beautiful testament to the glory of New York in the postwar years – a concept album penned and conducted by Gordon Jenkins, as kind of a musical tribute to the city and its apartment culture! The core narrative is about a guy who moves to, discovers, and falls in love with and in New York ... LP, Vinyl record album
Not as all-out exotic as some of Les' earlier Capitol albums, but still pretty darn great! The theme here is Carribean exotic, and the rhythms have a little bit more of Cuba and Haiti than they do of primitive Borneo. Les handles them nicely, as always, and contributes some wonderful arrangements ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the best albums by Tak Shindo – a west coast Japanese composer/arranger who was one of the few exotica artists to actually have the cultural cred to the sound! The arrangements – as the title might imply – mix together jazzy Capitol swinging and some more Eastern-oriented ... LP, Vinyl record album
Amazing stuff – one of those records you see for years, and always pass by – but which yields some real surprises once you dig in! Mason Williams is one of the cooler cats in the Warner Brothers stable of the late 60s – but he's also one of the more subtle, too – a folkie ... LP, Vinyl record album
