This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Keith Jarrett hits some of the styles of his later ECM years – working here on both piano, soprano sax, and percussion – in a quartet with Dewey Redman on tenor sax and percussion, Charlie Haden on bass, and Paul Motian on drums and percussion. The first half features the long "Eye ... LP, Vinyl record album
A seminal record in the formation of the Pat Metheny sound of the 70s – a set that brings his wonderfully chromatic work on guitar into play with the piano of Lyle Mays – all at a level that's so stripped-down and spacious, you can easily hear all the genius as it unfolds! And yet the ... LP, Vinyl record album
A fantastic 70s album from Gary Burton – a set that definitely has the "new" promised in the title, as it takes off more from some of Gary's work in previous years! The record's got this explosive sense of color that really comes through in Gary's vibes – and in the way the ... LP, Vinyl record album
Beautifully moody sounds from reedman Jan Garbarek – working here with the guitar of Bill Connors, drums of Jack DeJohnette, and organ and piano of the great John Taylor! LP, Vinyl record album
Features Gary Peacock on bass, Art Lande on piano, and Eliot Zigmund on drums! Titles include "So Green", "Fractions", "Last First", and "Caverns Beneath The Zoth". LP, Vinyl record album
A beautifully personal album from Ralph Towner – a set that's maybe got more going on than just a diary – as the whole thing has a very poetic approach to the sound, one that's really in keeping with the new modes of expression that Towner helped bring to ECM! There's a bit of overdub ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the highlights of saxophonist Jan Garbarek at ECM – and a set that has him working with the well-matched lineup of Bobo Stenson on piano, Palle Danielsson on bass, and Jon Christensen on drums! The shape of the songs is a bit looser than before, but Garbarek and Stenson turn out to be ... LP, Vinyl record album
Featuring Jack Bruce, Marianne Faithfull, and Robert Wyatt on vocals, led by Mantler on trumpet and Rick Fenn on guitar, with backing by the Danish Radio Concert Orchestra conducted by Peter Kragerup. LP, Vinyl record album
A standout moment from pianist Art Lande – maybe his best-remembered date for the ECM label – in part because the record features wonderful work from Jan Garbarek on flute, soprano, and bass saxophone! The simple duet mode is a bit different here than on other ECM dates – as ... LP, Vinyl record album
A killer set from Freddie Hubbard's legendary years on CTI! Like the classic Red Clay album, there's 4 tunes here, all longer cuts – where everyone gets a chance to stretch out a bit, over smooth (but not too smooth!) electric grooves, supported by great orchestrations from Don Sebesky! Ron ... LP, Vinyl record album
Quite an unusual session for trumpeter Freddie Hubbard – a set done during his early run of albums for Blue Note, but one that's got some much darker, more modern qualities than the rest! The music here almost verges on some of the "new thing" material of the period on the label ... LP, Vinyl record album
