More Of Other Worlds Other Sounds

LP (Item 19421) Reprise, Early 60s — Condition: Very Good+
One of the best Esquivel albums ever! The record is a follow-up to his Other Worlds, Other Sounds set originally recorded for RCA – but it was done for Reprise during the early 60s. The (then) free-wheeling gang at Reprise let Juan Garcia do pretty much anything he wanted to with the record – and the result is an amazing batch of spacey easy tracks that have a great lot of "zing" to them! Includes the tracks "Travelin", "Snowfall", "La Mantilla", "Chant Of The Night", and "Primavera". Recorded on Dual 35mm film, for super-sound.  © 1996-2025, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Tri color stereo pressing with deep groove. Cover has light surface wear and aging, but is completely split at the seams and spine, held with clear tape at the top seam, and with some tape remnants at the bottom seam.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Mercury, 1967. Very Good+
A fairly sincere collection of instrumental versions of tracks from Sgt Pepper's, performed by the great Brit Easy bandleader Peter Knight, who worked with Scott Walker, Dusty Springfield, and Dee Dee Warwick. Henri Rene

Music For Bachelors
RCA, 1956. Very Good
A classic album of 50s mood music – partially for its famous cover image of Jayne Mansfield on the telephone! But the music's pretty great too – less of the swinging, dynamic sounds you might guess from the "bachelor" in the title – and more in the mellower, romantic ... LP, Vinyl record album
