Ames Brothers with EsquivelHello Amigos ... LP
RCA, 1960. Near Mint- ... Just Sold Out!
A very unique outing – a set that mixes the sweet harmonies of The Ames Brothers with wild backings from Esquivel! Most of the tracks are in Spanish, and have Esquivel doing a standard Latin sound, but which also approaches his own solo work in some of the more unusual moments! LP, Vinyl record album
(Stereo pressing with deep groove. Cover has splitting on the seams and light surface wear.)

✨✧ EsquivelMore Of Other Worlds, Other Sounds ... CD
Reprise, Early 60s. Used ... Just Sold Out!
One of the best Esquivel albums ever! The record is a follow-up to his Other Worlds, Other Sounds set originally recorded for RCA – but it was done for Reprise during the early 60s. The (then) free-wheeling gang at Reprise let Juan Garcia do pretty much anything he wanted to with the record – and the result is an amazing batch of spacey easy tracks that have a great lot of "zing" to them! Includes the tracks "Travelin", "Snowfall", "La Mantilla", "Chant Of The Night", and "Primavera". Recorded on Dual 35mm film, for super-sound. CD
(1995 Reprise Archives pressing.)

(Out of print.)

✨✧ EsquivelInfinity In Sound Vols 1 & 2 ... CD
RCA/Bar None, 1960/1961. Used ... Out Of Stock
A bachelor pad double-header – two infinite classics from Esquivel, back to back on a single CD! Volume 1 is one of the maestro's greatest! From the instruments spiralling off to infinity on the cover, to the tracks played in the unique crazy Esquivel "wah wah" style, the album stands as one of the finest examples of (and obstacle courses for) modern high fidelity – a really dynamic set of instrumental tunes that perfectly display the powers of the legendary Juan Garcia Esquivel! Instrumentation is quite full – lots of horns that blast one minute, disappear the next – with lots of odd guitar bits, percussive elements, and other cool twists and turns to keep things plenty darn interesting – even when the tunes themselves are familiar ones. Tracks include "Softly As In A Morning Sunrise", "Music Makers", "Frenesi", "So Rare", "Take The A Train", "Harlem Nocturne", "Autumn Leaves", and "Macarena". As the cover warns, this one is for "Hi-Fanatics"! Volume 2 is an incredible record of over the top arrangements – all produced with the kind of all-around sound that made Esquivel's best records so great! Juan Garcia's really got his trademark sound in place by the time of this set – and the album's got plenty of "wah wah" and "doo doo" vocals, mixed with swinging strings and soaring piano – in a sound that's perfectly summed up by the cover's "trombones into infinity" look. Titles include "Baia", "La Bamba", "Sentimental Journey", "Espana Cani", and "Lullaby Of Birdland". CD
