One of Hugo Montenegro's greatest soundtracks ever – and one of the grooviest 60s scores we can think of! The album's filled with incredible jazzy tracks – darkly tinged, but bubbling, upbeat, and wonderful – the kind of hard-driving numbers that make a soundtrack like this so ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the rarest John Barry soundtracks – and one of the most wonderful too! The work was scored for an obscure Hal Wallis film with Topol and Mia Farrow – and Barry's using these weird strings that kind of float and step with a rhythmic undercurrent – a very odd, watery sound ... The soundtrack that put John Barry over the top – and to many, THE James Bond soundtrack! The album chills from the first notes of the haunting title theme – the majestic "Goldfinger", sung by Shirley Bassey with a tone that's as dangerous as a razor-sharp hat spinning ... LP, Vinyl record album
Alex North's wonderful score for the Elia Kazan production of Streetcar Named Desire – a soundtrack that's filled with a fair bit of jazz touches, and which almost comes off with an Elmer Bernstein sort of feel! The music's quite dark and evocative – wonderfully played throughout, with ... LP, Vinyl record album
A playful little soundtrack for this offbeat Patty Duke film – handled by Dominic Frontiere in ways that are sometimes sentimental and respectful, and sometimes seem to be poking a bit of fun at the subject matter! Frontiere's usually our favorite when he hits an upbeat groove – and ... LP, Vinyl record album
A wonderful soundtrack from Booker T & The MGs – a record that's probably much better remembered than the film for which it was written! The tunes show a whole new depth for the group – a style that still has some of the charm of their previous hits, but which also takes off in ... LP, Vinyl record album
An excellent soundtrack to one of the wildest Woody Allen movies ever made – a weird little film that has Woody dubbing fake English dialogue over a Japanese action picture! The music by Lovin Spoonful is equally great – a bit groovier than some of their other albums of the time – ... LP, Vinyl record album
In the past 30 years, this one's gone from being a fierce outpouring of the Bay Area underground, to a cliche of classic rock, to a brilliant example of west coast Latin rock/funk/fusion in action! Features a stellar cover of "Oye Como Va", plus "Black Magic Woman/Gypsy Queen", ... LP, Vinyl record album
