Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Jack DeJohnette

Earth Walk
Blue Note, 1991. Used
A post-ECM set from drummer Jack DeJohnette – one that's got a bit more electricity in the mix than before, yet which still has that great sense of energy that Jack gave us with his Special Edition group! The lineup here is youthful – Greg Osby on alto and soprano sax, Gary Thomas on ... CD

Cannonball Adderley

Somethin' Else (with bonus track)
Blue Note, 1958. Used
A landmark album – even if it was the only session that Cannonball Adderley ever cut for Blue Note! The album was recorded at a time when Adderley was working with Miles Davis – and as such, the session features a group that includes Miles, blowing in a cool tone that's a perfect ... CD

Stanley Jordan

Standards Vol 1
Blue Note, 1986. Used
Guitarist Stanley Jordan takes on a set of standards – not just older tunes from the American songbook, but also some gorovy soul and pop numbers as well! Jordan plays solo throughout – in that open, lyrical style that we loved on his debut – and titles include "Sunny", ... CD
Blue Note, Early 60s. Used
One of the Jimmy Smith "jam session" Blue Notes, with a large group that includes Lee Morgan, Lou Donaldson, George Coleman, Tina Brooks, and Art Blakey – nearly all of whom take long solos and dig deep to compete with each other. A hard-wailing, jam session, cutting contest, ... CD
Blue Note, 1958. Used
Great rare work from Horace Silver – a lost late 50s live date that's somewhat different than his usual work of the time for Blue Note! This concert performance has a sound that's a bit more open and unfettered than the tighter Silver studio groove – still well-conceived overall, with ... CD
