This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
A beautiful little album, very different than Wayne Shorter's other work, and sort of a "return of the favor" to the nation of Brazil for the country's rich musical influence on his music! Milton Nascimento sings vocals on most cuts, and if anything, the album resembles Nascimento's work ... LP, Vinyl record album
Way more than just a simple version of work from Porgy & Bess – and instead, a key collaboration between Miles Davis and Gil Evans – done with a sound that really transforms the tunes! True, the work here is all based on George Gershwin's original compositions – but through ... LP, Vinyl record album
An incredible album – a super-hit for Ray, and unlike anything else he ever did! The album's based around the groove of the classic Madison dance – a darkly turning rhythm that's laid down by Ray with some heavy-handed work on piano that's really outta site! The group on the set's a ... LP, Vinyl record album
The future is now! Or at least it seemed to be back in 1983 when Herbie teamed up with Bill Laswell to record this classic album of computer-driven keyboard grooves! Whatever you might think of the music, the record was a genius move for Herbie – who was kind of flopping around in a number ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great collection of Miles' classic work for Columbia – one that features a few really hard to find gems! To us, the highlight is 2 tracks – "Stella By Starlight" and "On Green Dolphin Street" – both of which are subtle modal gems lifted from Miles' rare Jazz ... LP, Vinyl record album
A really fantastic album that's one of Eddie Harris' most unique albums of the 60s! The record features Eddie blowing in that lean and soulful mode that he used on his best Vee Jay albums – a bit exotic, but never meandering, with impeccable placement in all his solos, and a tone that's ... LP, Vinyl record album
Wonderful keyboard work from the amazing Rodney Franklin – a player who sounds equally great on acoustic and electric piano! This album does a wonderful job of mixing them both – showing Rodney's more sensitive side on a few acoustic numbers, but then really taking off in a much more ... LP, Vinyl record album
A bit more high concept than before for Stanley Clarke – almost a suite of sorts, but one that still has some great standout tunes in the mix! Although Clarke used to bring his higher concepts to bear in the space of a single song, this one's more of a full exploration of the character in ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great late 70s fusion set from guitarist Gale working here with his CTI labelmate Bob James. In fact, except for the absence of Creed Taylor, this set is in many ways like a CTI session, with sidemen that include James, Steve Gadd and Anthony Jackson – and a full string and brass section, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Smooth as silk, with plenty of soul – a classic set that has the guitar of Eric Gale produced by the legendary Allen Toussaint! The cross of talents is pretty compelling – and although the album's not a New Orleans funk outing, it definitely shares some of the more creative elements ... LP, Vinyl record album
A self-titled early 80s set from Weather Report – not to be confused with the group's debut over a decade before – and one that still has key core members Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, and Jaco Pastorius in place! Shorter's reeds seem even more angular than before – really chopping ... LP, Vinyl record album
A classic west coast recording by Stan – recorded at the Shrine Theater in LA, with a group that includes Bob Brookmeyer on trombone, John Williams on piano, Art Madigan on drums, and Bill Anthony on bass. The tracks are long with that mellifluous Getz swing to them – not really modern ... LP, Vinyl record album
