All Around The World (long, American club)/Affection

12-inch (Item 42357) Arista, 1989 — Condition: Near Mint-
(pic cover)
(€4.87 || £4.31 || ¥659) (approx.)

A fantastic track – grooving along at a rich soulful midtempo pace that owes a heck of a lot to Soul II Soul, but which also is the perfect showcase for Lisa's wonderfully soulful vocals. And sure, it got played to death when it came out – but that's what makes it a classic, and just the fact that we never tire of it has to say something about the greatness of the cut! American club mix features work by Mark The 45 King.  © 1996-2018, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

A great little single from Lisa – featuring the sublime hit "All Woman", plus 3 versions of "Everything Will Get Better", not included on the Change album, but recorded at the same time, and only on this single! 12-inch, Vinyl record

Post-Motown grooving from Eddie Kendricks – still very much in a boogie mode all the way through! "Whip" is our favorite track here – as it's got a straightforward clubby groove that lets Eddie do plenty on his own with the vocals, especially on the great hook! 12-inch, Vinyl record

One of the best tracks ever by First Choice! "Let No Man" is a sweeping anthemic club track – with a righteous lyric about love and losing it, and some killer production by the Baker-Harris-Young team that really gives the girls a great soulful groove! Early work from Trouble Funk – so early, they're listed as "Trouble" on the label! The track's still funky though – and it's one of their best from the early days, with a good hard straight funk groove that's free of a lot of the cliches of later Go-Go work.
