Music To Read James Bond By Vol 2

LP (Item 373680) United Artists, Mid 60s — Condition: Sealed

UA makes the film copyright cash register jingle again on this second set of tracks from their James Bond films, performed by other artists in the catalog. Tracks include "Thunderball" & "Underwater Chase" by Al Caiola, "007" & "The Golden Horn" by Count Basie, "James Bond Theme" by Perez Prado, "License To Kill" & "Search For Vulcan" by Leroy Holmes.  © 1996-2021, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Shrinkwrap has a small hole. Cover has a small sticker.)

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Groovy guitarist Al lays down a tasty set of 60s spy and cop themes – all with a Leroy Holmes production style that's similar to other pop soundtrack work on United Artists. A very cool record! This is one of our favorite "instrument & a voice" LPs, with lots of great jazzy piano cuts that feature a wordless female vocal lilting over some nice soulful keyboards. Includes a great cut called "To Make it Right", which has a sort of Tribe Called ... LP, Vinyl record album

A very groovy album by Laurindo Almeida – one of his best bossa cookers in a swinging 60s mode! Cool Mancini work from the start of the 70s – a record that offers a nice step forward from his scoring styles of the 60s, with a slightly orchestral feel as well! It's a long way from LA to Broadway, but Martin Denny makes the trip with most of his bag still intact, and actually manages to deliver some pretty interesting versions of Broadway hits of the 1950s.
