❔
Great group vocals by one of Motown's biggest groups to never really make it. This album has some of their best cuts, with a sweet harmony sound, and raw production that works quite well with the band's approach. The best example of this is the cut "We Can Make It Baby", but other nice cuts include "Once I Have You", "If You Gonna Leave", and "The Only Time You Love Me Is When You're Losing Me".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original pressing. Cover has ring and edge wear, a cutout notch, and aging.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Down To Love Town
Motown, 1977. Near Mint-

Game Called Love
Motown, 1974. Very Good
Kind of a confused effort by The Originals – with a mix of styles that has the band running through material that includes some mellow countrified soul, plus sweeter ballads that are more in line with the group's better work. Jr Walker & The All Stars Play Shotgun
SOUL, 1965. Sealed
One of the all-time classics from Jr Walker & The All Stars – key proof that Motown could groove even when nobody was laying down vocals! Ruff 'N Ready
SOUL, 1969. Very Good+

Jr Walker & The All Stars

Road Runner
SOUL, 1966. Very Good+
A stone cooker from Jr Walker – the kind of hard-driving soul that made his 60s Motown work a key link between the Detroit sound of the time, and R&B sounds of earlier years! Jr's soulful sax is right up in the mix on most numbers – and the overall sound is nicely freewheeling and ... LP, Vinyl record album

Natural Resources/Motown, Early 70s. Very Good+
Despite the "Show Tunes" in the title, this set's really a great batch of tracks from some of Motown's soundtracks from the early 70's. this means that the set includes "Brothers Gonna Work It Out" and "Theme Of Foxy Brown" by Willie Hutch, "Don't It Feel Good To ... LP, Vinyl record album

Willie Tee

Anticipation
United Artists, 1976. Near Mint-
Mid 70's album of funky soul tracks cut by ex-Gator Willie Tee, with a number of other members of the Gators, for United Artists. Don't go thinking that it's raw New Orleans soul, though, because the sound is a lot more polished, with more of a 70's modern groove to it. Willie's still got some ... LP, Vinyl record album

Manhattans

It Feels So Good
Columbia, 1977. Near Mint-
A real classic from The Manhattans – and just the kind of record to show why the group stayed so great after all the years! Arguably the last true moment of genius in Michael Jackson's career – a record that sold a bazillion copies around the world – and for plenty good reason!
