En Studio Avec Serge Gainsbourg Vol 2

LP (Item 166849) Universal (France), Late 50s/1960s/1970s/Early 80s — Condition: Sealed
A treasure trove of rare work from the legendary Serge Gainsbourg – studio outtakes, alternate versions, and lots of other material that stands as a great addition to the catalog of one of the coolest, grooviest French language singers ever! This vinyl volume 2 brings together rare tracks by Serge and a few associates – some from 45 or LP projects, but presented here in different modes that stand as a wonderful complement to some of the versions you might know – almost like a "part 2" or extended take in some cases. Titles include "Panpan Cucul (unreleased inst)", "First Class Ticket (alternate)", "Comme Un Boomerang", "Goodbye Emmanuelle (unreleased inst)", "Ecce Homo (alternate lyrics)", "Torrey Canyon (alt mix)", "En Melody (solo violin electric)", "Machins Choses (inst version)", "Milena (inst)", and the cuts "Mambo Miam Miam (inst)" by Los Goragueros, "Les Papillons Noirs" by Michelle Arnaud, and "Je T'Aime Moi Non Plus (acetate original)" by Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Cheryl Lynn
Columbia, 1978. Near Mint-
Massive work from the great Cheryl Lynn – and a key bridge between late 70s disco and the newer grooves of the 80s club scene! The album's a mix of midtempo groovers with a few mellower tracks – and it's got a tight, slightly jazzy sound that was very fresh at the time, and which still ... LP, Vinyl record album
