Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Nonesuch, 2012. Used
A legendary pairing of two amazing artists – a once-in-a-lifetime performance from Caetano Veloso and David Byrne (and we don't mean that as a Talking Heads pun, either!) The album's got a stripped-down, acoustic feel that really lets both singers open up and dominate the proceedings – ... CD
Sony (Brazil), 2015. Used
One of the strongest, most positive albums that Ivan Lins has recorded in years – a set that almost has the feel of some of his biggest albums from the 80s, a time when Lins was riding high on a big wave of international acclaim! The production is a bit more top-shelf than other recent ... CD

Toquinho & Sadao Watanabe

Made In Coracao
Elektra, 1988. Used
A lovely little meeting between bossa guitarist Toquinho and Japanese saxophonist Sadao Watanabe – a set that has Sadao returning to some of the Brazilian styles he first recorded back in the 60s! There's a nicely warm feel to the set, but the sound is still pretty intimate overall – ... CD

Recent live material from Djavan – caught with a smallish rock-oriented band, in front of a very lively crowd. The overall feel is quite strong – and Djavan's guitar and soulful voice always manage to please, whatever the setting. There's 2 discs in the set – and titles include ... CD
EMI (Japan), 1965/1998. Used
Stunning early work by the great Marcos Valle – a dreamy bit of bossa that virtually defines the genre! The album's one of the first to feature Marcos as a singer – a showcase for his work as a "cantor" after his reputation had been building as a composer – and the ... CD

Samba Rock
Universal (Brazil), 2001. Used
Incredible new work from Trio Mocoto – the famous Samba Soul trio who were such a big part of Jorge Ben's work in the early 70s! The group still have all the funky flourish of their classic years – and they're working here in a setting that takes that sound, and respectfully touches it ... CD

Black Sabbath

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
Warner, 1973. Used
The grandest scale and most elaborately furnished Black Sabbath album to this point – but they still bring the heavy! The title track is one of the most influential metal songs ever, with the foreboding lyrics, trudging stomp of a rhythmic pace and those bridges that are almost pretty – ... CD
