Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so.
These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play,
but might detract from the looks.
May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be
intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under
the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record.
(Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
Possible minor surface noise when played.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Includes remixes of "Mother's Talk" by Tears For Fears, "Raised By Snakes" by Telex, "You Spin Me Round" by Dead Or Alive, "Our Darkness" by Anne Clark, "C'C'Can't You See" by Vicious Pink, "Vicious Games" by Yello, "Forever ... LP, Vinyl record album
Densely atmospheric and hypnotically beat-driven grooves from Mad Zach on Alpha Pup! There's a bit more of intense electronic vibe here than the some of the more abstract jazzy soul soundscapes of a lot what we've heard on the label to date, which is gratifying honestly – and is compelling as ... An excellent early album from Ernie Watts – one that has him taking on the music of Stevie Wonder with very groovy results! The sound here is quite different than the smoother fusion of Ernie's later years – and instead, there's a rollicking soul jazz groove to most numbers – one ... LP, Vinyl record album
Easily our favorite album ever by Ann Peebles – not just for the beathead title track, but also because it seems to be the one record where she brings a bit something extra to the studio! The sound is certainly in the classic Hi Records mode here – thanks to production by Willie ... LP, Vinyl record album
An unusual record, but a great one too – a set that mixes the offbeat reed work of Roland Kirk with some inventive ideas from a group of young west coast players! Some of the group members are names you'll recognize on their own from genre-crossing sessions for other labels – like ... LP, Vinyl record album
