Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Galt MacDermot

Joker Of Seville
Kilmarnock, 1974. Used
One of the many unusual stage productions created by Galt MacDermot in the wake of his success with Hair – an unusual Caribbean recasting of the story of Don Juan – with music that's a mix of jazz, calypso, and Spanish-styled sounds! All tracks are vocals, with lyrics penned by Derek ... CD
Fantasy, 1975. Used
A pretty straight score from Jack Nitzsche – despite his groovier tendencies on earlier work – but also not a bad one, and a lot more striking than we remember the music being when we saw the film! A few tracks are kind of groovy and soft instrumentals, others are more dramatic, and ... CD

Lalo Schifrin/Leonard Rosenman

Telefon/Hide In Plain Sight
Film Score Monthly, 1977/1980. Used
Two late 70s thriller soundtracks – back to back in a mighty sweet package! First up is Lalo Schifrin's score for the tense Charles Bronson thriller Telefon – music we've never seen on an original LP, put forward here in brilliantly remastered sound! Many numbers are quite tense ... CD
Polydor, 1984. Used
All the classics – including "Big Bottom", "Sex Farm", "Stonehenge", "Listen To The Flower People", and "Hell Hole" – plus the bonus tracks "Christmas With The Devil" and "Christmas With The Devil (scratch mix)". CD

Lalo Schifrin

Sky Riders
Aleph, 1976. Used
A lovely little soundtrack from Lalo Schifrin – not as all-out funky as some of his other classics from the mid 70s, but pretty wonderful overall – and scored with a real sense of beauty throughout! The music was penned for a thriller that starred James Coburn and Robert Culp – ... CD

Ennio Morricone

White Dog
Film Score Monthly, 1982. Used
An amazing soundtrack from Ennio Morricone – deeply sophisticated sounds, originally done for a very schlocky movie! To be fair, the movie's quite compelling in its own way – a Sam Fuller film about a racist dog – but Morricone's score is something completely different entirely, ... CD

Vangelis/New American Orchestra

Blade Runner
East West/Warner (UK), 1982. Used
One of the best-remembered moments of music from the enigmatic Vangelis – a set that's maybe a bit darker and more moody than some of his other records of the time – thanks to the Blade Runner setting provided by director Ridley Scott! Vangelis works plenty of familiar early 80s ... CD
