Volume 1

LP (Item 813198) Uni, 1969 — Condition: Near Mint-
Gatefold
A very groovy set – with titles that include "I'm A Man/Here Tis", "Never Put Away My Love For You", "Devil Woman", "Moonfire", "Two Of Us", and "Little Woman".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Original pressing in the unipak cover, with a cutout hole & minimal wear.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Strawberry Alarm Clock

Incense & Peppermints
Uni, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Dreamy dreamy pop psych from Strawberry Alarm Clock – a great late 60s group who skirted the worlds of Sunshine Pop and more jamming garage rock! This album's got a lot more to offer than you might guess from just the title hit – as the instrumentation sometimes gets nicely tripped out ... LP, Vinyl record album

East Side Kids

Tiger & The Lamb
Uni, Late 60s. Very Good+
One of those very cool, very obscure albums on Uni at the end of the 60s – a set co-produced by early hit rocker Buzz Clifford and the group's guitarist, Dan Moore. Titles include "Heavy Love", "Can't Feel Love", "Is My Love Strong", and "Move Like ... LP, Vinyl record album

Strawberry Alarm Clock

World In A Sea Shell
Uni, Late 60s. Near Mint-
Fantastic sunshine pop from the Strawberry Alarm Clock – an album that's a bit trippy, a lot sunny – and just the right mix of psych and harmony soul! There's some wonderful overlooked nuggets on the record – tunes that go past their chart hits, and which really remind us that ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sire, 1977. Very Good+
Alright, let's get this straight right now – the songs don't sound the same, they ARE the same and that's why we love them! Heaven 17

How Men Are
Arista/Virgin, 1984. Very Good+
The last moment of greatness from Heaven 17 – and a set that continues the trend towards more soulful expression the group began with their previous record! This time around, the production is warmly touched with many soul-based elements that nicely offset the colder electro pop of their ... LP, Vinyl record album

John Mayall

Back To The Roots
Polydor, 1971. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
John Mayall's definitely getting back to his roots here – and he's also getting help from an all-star cast as well! Mayall's vocals and piano are in fine form – almost with a rough-edged Blues Breakers sort of vibe, but sometimes a bit funkier too – in ways that strongly show the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Iron Butterfly

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Atco, 1968. Near Mint-
The album that rocked a million dorm rooms back in the 60s – and for good reason, too – given that the title track is a side-long, totally jamming monster – the kind of track that was really revolutionary at the time, and which still has a hell of an impact all these many years ... LP, Vinyl record album
London, 1968. Near Mint- Gatefold
British blues meets LA's Laurel Canyon – a trans-Atlantic (or is it Pacific?) blend that makes for one of John Mayall's most compelling albums of the 60s! The album was recorded after the breakup of the Blues Breakers group – but it still features strong support from Mick Taylor on ... LP, Vinyl record album
