Sublime vocals from Clarice Assad – a singer who's got some ties to older Brazilian traditions, but who also really makes things all her own – with a dynamic sense of phrasing that's perfectly backed up by some equally great instrumentation! Clarice handled all the arrangments – which blend flute, strings, vocals, and lots of deft percussion – but always in this lean way that moves along effortlessly with her beautiful vocals. The approach has all the fresh appeal of Joyce at her best – although Clarice is quite different overall, and often open to a much wider range of influences. Titles include "De Perna Pro Ar", "Passaros", "Fantasia", "Tempestade", "Why", "Lachrimae", "Dedezinha De Maio", and "Revolta Das Flores". (Punch through digipack barcode.)  © 1996-2018, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Adventure Music, 2008. Used
Kind of a silly name, but a really great group – and one without any of the hoke you might expect! The sound is definitely what's promised, a meeting of samba rhythms and older American jazz – but there's a breezy sort of warmth to the record that's light years from standard boogie ... CD

Amazing! This is a very cool 19-track CD that brings together all of the Caetano Veloso singles from his first 10 years, and it's a great batch of material that includes many tracks that haven't been on LPs, or any of the CD reissues we've been stocking! As with any major artist like this, the ... CD

Really tremendous work from Caetano Veloso – an album as striking as its cover image, and a record that shows that, yet again, Veloso is one of the few of his generation who's kept growing as a creative artist! The sound is wonderful – very similar to the recent albums Ce and Zii & ... CD
