Ralph LaLama's a surprisingly strong tenorist – one we'd never heard before this album, but who's got a sound that's angular, yet soulful – a bit like Warne Marsh at some of his best post-50s moments! There's a slightly Marsh-ish feel to the set, too – in the way the tunes have an airy, spacious sound – hanging together in a mix of tenor, guitar, bass, and drums – almost with nods to the Konitz school, but with a different feel at other times. All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
