A great group session from Art Tatum – recorded in the mid 50s, and featuring a sextet of some of the best Verve players of the time! Art's right at home in this setting – playing perhaps with a bit less dynamism on his solo and trio recordings of the decade, but really warming up nicely to company that includes Lionel Hampton on vibes, Harry Edison on trumpet, Barney Kessel on guitar, Red Callender on bass, and Buddy Rich on drums. Tracks are all longish, with plenty of room for everyone to do their thing – and titles include "Verve Blues", "What Is This Thing Called Love", "Plaid", "Somebody Loves Me", "Deep Purple", and "September Song". All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
