Ghetto Superstar (album, inst, acapella)

12-inch (Item 67740) EMI, 1997 — Condition: Very Good

...

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

4th & Broadway, 1987. Near Mint- (pic cover)
An offshoot of the 4AD rock scene from the UK, this number sampled Rakim from "Paid In Full" to great effect – and it made quite a bit of sense that the track was issued on 4th & Broadway in the US (probably also a legal move, so that the label wouldn't sue 4AD for copping a ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Bass pedals, midtempo rhythms, and a sublime early 80s groove – a cut that crossed over big but still sounds great today – and a wonderful mix of styles that's easily one of the standouts from the time! Herbie at his most R&B oriented for the 70s – but also pretty darn great as well! "You Bet Your Love" is a really groovy little number – one that begins here with a long-rolling intro that's got a great rollerskating feel – and which opens into a beautifully spacey ... 12-inch, Vinyl record

Snapping beats and funky bass – another break beat classic from Manzel! The tune's got this wicked stepping bass that almost takes us back to ESG – remixed here by Masters At Work in an even fiercer groove than the original. The tune really steps out with a nice funky edge – and ... 12-inch, Vinyl record
