7-inch, Vinyl record

✈

An unusual 7" pressing of this album!
(Sleeve has a split bottom seam and some aging.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Atlantic, 1973. Near Mint- (pic cover)
A great little 7" ep version of one of Aretha's greatest records – and a nice little batch of jazzy tunes that features arrangements and production by Quincy Jones! The album breaks way past the stock southern soul style of some of Aretha's earlier work for Atlantic – and this 4 ... 7-inch, Vinyl record

Fantastic lost soul from Chicago! "If I Could" has these amazing baroque arrangements, with a good string part, and a hard groove buried deep in the mix. Fantastic Northern Soul from Detroit! The b-side "She's Putting You On" is a winning uptempo stormer, and "Go On" is a lost love ballad. 7-inch, Vinyl record

Do You Think I'm Disco/Coho Lip Blues
Ovation, 1979. Near Mint- (pic cover)
After the Ovation label shut down Black Jazz, this was the kind of stuff they resorted to putting out. Chicago DJ Steve Dahl (the man behind the "Disco Demolition" in the late 70's) hit big on the charts in 1979 with this parody of Rod Stewart's "Do You Think I'm Sexy". 7-inch, Vinyl record
