Del, Souls Of Mischief, Casual and Pep Love return for a damn fine new full length. As if you need us to tell you, the Hieros are one of Cali's longest running crews – and Full Circle is, for the most part, a pretty laidback affair. Pep Love really seems to kind of stand out as the leader this time; it's not so much that Pep gets the most mic time (although that might be the case), but his quick, sharp, yet still sort of leisurely delivery kind of serves as the glue between sort of co-captain Casual's harder, more booming delivery and the others. Soulful progeny Goapele appears on "Make Your Move" and the title track, and Abstract Rude rocks a verse in "100,000 Indi". Full Circle may not break any new ground, but it's a warm visit with longtime friends that we wouldn't trade for 100 flavour du jour MCs and producers that get all of that praise in CMJ and Entertainment Weekly. Other tracks include "Fantasy Island", "Powers That Be", "Shift Shape", "Classic", "Chicago", "Halo", "Love Flowin", "Let It Flow", "7 Sixes" and more.  © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.

Hip hop like we don't hear on the major labels any more – minimal soul based samples, midtempo grooves, thoughtful, often sung vocals, and beats by Jay Dee and the Herbaliser! This one is a groover from beginning to end, kind of reminding us of Tribe's Midnight Marauders in overall feel. T-L ... CD

While this is probably the weakest of the 4 albums EPMD cut before busting up, that shouldn't lead you to believe it's weak. This third LP finds Erick and Parrish still repping Long Island with their signature boom bap beats and slow flow rhyme style. Maybe you didn't get open open on this one ... CD
