If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible. All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play
without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove,
you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not,
then you may return it for a full refund.
With our Used CDs, you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of
surface marks — clean, and not dirty at all. You can also expect the case to be
clean (we often change the cases ourselves — putting fresh cases on Used CDs we
handle) — and you can expect the booklet to be in good shape, unless noted
otherwise. We will list any specific details/defects underneath the item — so
look for notes on cutout marks in the case, stamps on the barcode, or details like that.
The mindblowing classic debut of De La Soul! 3 Feet High And Rising is inarguably one of the most important records in hip hop history – with playful, endearingly oddball trio rhymes and Prince Paul production at it's most sprawlingly sampled and creative. It's got flat out classic songs ... CD
A Japanese only compilation of one of our all time favorite hip hop groups! Includes "Just Hangin Out", "Fakin The Funk", "Just A Friendly Game Of Baseball (rmx)", "Peace Is Not The Word To Play", "Live At The Barbeque", "Snake Eyes", ... CD
Another strong effort from Soul Position – MC Blueprint and the ever-prolific sound styler RJD2 – doing their solid, timelessly rolicking sound and righteous rhyming as consistently as ever! Soul Position simply pulls their style off with better results than many of their ... CD
Madlib invades Blue Note! He gets free reign of the catalog for this mix of sampler genius and live band interpretations, too, as/with Ahmad Miller, Yesterdays New Quintet, Malcolm Catto, Medaphoar, and others from the Stones Throw camp. This one's truly a conceptual triumph, if there ever was ... CD
By the time this third LP dropped, (Reverend) Run, DMC and Jam Master Jay were seasoned vets, delivering stripped down second generation hip hop with the hardest sounds on the East coast, but without neglecting the party rocking side of the game. Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons are on production, ... CD
A Stones Throw sci-fi masterpiece – one that was destined for greatness from conception, but we're still pretty well blown away by the final product! MC Doom and beatmaster Madlib couldn't be better suited for a collaboration. As much as we've dug the best of Doom's material of the last ... CD
The laidback classic! The Digables certainly weren't the first or the most innovative hip hop group to rely upon cooled out jazzy grooves for the backbone of their sound, but they really brought it home with a hugely endearing and long enduring vibe – and this is their masterpiece! All ... CD
Aceyalone's collaboration with Mumbles, much less upbeat than his later work and even the Freestyle Fellowship albums, with space in the beats, providing a darker, jazzier atmosphere. It's a nice departure from the stuff he was doing previously and even afterwards – the Mumbles production ... CD
Your favorite DJ savior returns, after an extended absence, with another mindnumbing full length exercise in future hip hop. 10 instrumental excursions into the world of Josh Davis (with a few extra interludes, of course), and as you might expect, the drum programming is top rate, intricate and ... CD
A fierce 10th album from the Roots – hard hitting and straight up angry, without sacrificing the musicality that makes them the most unique crew in hip hop of the past 15 years! We'll do our best to recommend this vital LP without tagging it with the dreaded "concept album" tag ... CD
"This here is the victory lap," raps Hove midway through The Black Album, his supposed career-capper (for this stage, anyway), and if nothing here immediately dazzles us to the core the way the best of his past singles have done, overall this is probably the most consistent front-to-back ... CD
