Mother Focus

LP (Item 563110) Atco, 1975 — Condition: Near Mint-
Originally: 9.99
(Yellow label stereo pressing. Cover has light wear and a promo sticker.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Amon Duul II

Hijack
Atco, 1974. Very Good+
One of the most widely-circulated albums from the second incarnation of Amon Duul – and one of the most striking as well! The set's got a bit more focus than some of their earlier efforts, but a sound that's still plenty darn trippy – with more carefully-constructed passages that bring ... LP, Vinyl record album

Old Soldiers Never Die
Atco, 1973. Near Mint- Gatefold
An underground 70s classic from group with a vibe that's a bit hard to peg, and which is definitely very much their own – sometimes rootsy, sometimes more hard rock – and graced with excellent guitar from Albert Lee throughout! At some level, the variety here is very similar to that in ... LP, Vinyl record album

Iron Butterfly

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Atco, 1968. Very Good
The album that rocked a million dorm rooms back in the 60s – and for good reason, too – given that the title track is a side-long, totally jamming monster – the kind of track that was really revolutionary at the time, and which still has a hell of an impact all these many years ... Iron Butterfly

Ball
Atco, 1969. Very Good+ Gatefold
A killer classic from Iron Butterfly – a group who always had way more to offer than their hits, as you'll find out when dipping into this full length set! Sublime early work from Robert Wyatt and crew – a psychedelic accented jazz rock classic that never gets old – and a visionary set that inspired a generation!
