❔

A motherlode of lost Motown tracks – and a much-needed look at the post Diana Ross years of the Supremes! The set's like rediscovering a lost part of soul music – or finally realizing how great something is that you'd passed by for years – as the group were still plenty strong at this point, and were working in a range of unusual styles that firmly show the unbridled Motown sound after the end of the 60s. The 42 track set features 10 previously unissued tracks, a wealth of tunes on CD for the first time, and a bonus essay by Mary Wilson too! Titles include "I Keep It Hid", "Up The Ladder To The Roof", "All I Want", "I Guess I'll Miss The Man", "Love Train", "Bad Weather", "The Sha-La Bandit", "Give Out But Don't Give Up", "High Energy", "Bend A Little", "Nathan Jones", "Touch", "Love The One You're With", "Life Beats", "Together We Can Make Sweet Music", "Floy Joy", "Walk With Me Talk With Me Darling", "We Should Be Closer Together", and "You're My Driving Wheel".  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Out of print, small cutout hole through case.)

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD". This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer Used CDs in the best shape possible.

When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs — so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.

All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly — and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.

Motown/Surface (UK), 1981. Used
Killer grooves from Ozone – an overlooked early 80s group on Motown, and easily one of the label's strongest suits of the time! The group have the tighter sound of most of the Motown work of the time – but they also manage a looser, more organic sort of approach to their groove – ... CD
Motown, 1987. Used
An excellent mid 80s soul set from Garry Glenn – recorded for Motown, and sadly lost in the shuffle at the time. The record's a surprising gem – sophisticated, mature, and with a laidback quality that really gets past some of the cliches of 80s soul at the time. Garry's got a talent ... CD
