Classic club and soulful disco, all brought together in service of the lasting memory of Larry Levan – legendary DJ at the Paradise Garage, and a key force in shaping the sound of the dancefloor for years to come! The set features some material presented in special Larry Levan mixes, plus others pulled from rare 12" singles back in the day – and together the whole thing makes for a great collection of grooves from the left end of the spectrum – a great antidote to popular disco at the end of the 70s, and proof that the creative sound of the dancefloor was still burning strong! 2CD set features a total of 22 tracks – surprisingly well collected for anything with the Rhino name on it, and including "Love Has Come Around (12" version)" by Donald Byrd & 125th Street NYC, "Lover's Holiday (12" version)" by Change, "It Should Have Been You (12" voc)" by Gwen Guthrie, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough (garage version)" by Inner Life, "Why Leave Us Alone (12" long version)" by Five Special, "Lost In Music (1984 Niles Rodgers rmx)" by Sister Sledge, "Baby I'm Scared Of You" by Womack & Womack, "You Can't Hide" by David Joseph, "Bad For Me (12" long version)" by Dee Dee Bridgewater, "Smack Dab In The Middle" by Janice McClain, "We Got The Funk (12" US re-edit)" by Poisitive Force, "Haven't You Heard" by Patrice Rushen, "Weekend (12" extended)" by Phreek, "Clouds" by Chaka Khan, "Love Injection" by Trussel, "Can't Play Around (12" vocal)" by Lace, and "Heartbeat (club)" by Taana Gardner.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.
