If you've ever wondered why Maze cut so many live albums in their career, listen to this one and wonder no further. This great live set recorded in LA is filled with the kind of tight, yet mellow soul grooves that made the group huge in the late 70's and early 80's. The live performances add new life to older favorites, and they open up the songs a bit more than other live albums by contemporary soul performers. With (of course) "Joy And Pain", plus "Running Away", "Happy Feelings", "We Are One", and "I Wanna Be With You". (Includes the printed inner sleeves. Cover has light wear.)  © 1996-2015, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Mercury, 1978. Very Good
Excellent work from this smooth Chicago vocal group! The album may well be the best the group ever recorded – and it features some stellar ballad work produced with a nice spacey tone, almost in a Rose Royce mellow mode – by Jerry Butler's Fountain Productions team and by Clarence ... Percussion Explosion!
Alston, 1978. Good+
The percussion-heavy soul gem from Herman Kelly & Life – recorded in both Brazil & Miami – and awash with killer drum work all the way through! The album's a key part of the Miami sound especially – and really shows the way that city's 70s funk scene used congas heavily ... LP, Vinyl record album
