Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Chick Corea

Children's Songs
ECM (Germany), 1984. Used
Nothing childish here – as the album's a beautiful set of short, spare numbers from Chick Corea – a perfect reminder that he could still maintain a subtle approach to his music, even after years of more dramatic electric sides! The bulk of the album features short "Children's ... CD

Chick Corea

Expressions
GRP, 1994. Used
Very expressive work from Chick Corea – a solo set from the 90s, and a great reminder of his acoustic talents on the piano! Although Chick's a player you might normally associate with electric riffs and freewheeling fusion, he's also a very sensitive stylist when he wants to be – as ... CD

Chick Corea

Ultimate Adventure
Concord/Stretch, 2006. Used
A multi-part tone poem inspired by L Ron Hubbard and Arabian Nights. Album features Hubert Laws, Steve Gadd, Aito Moreira, and others. CD
Stretch, 1998. Used
Chick Corea on piano – with Steve Wilson and Bob Sheppard on reeds, Steve Davis on trombone, Avishai Cohen on bass, and Adam Cruz on drums. CD

Chick Corea

Alive
GRP, 1991. Used
A double-length live set from Chick Corea's Akoustic Band – an ensemble with kind of a silly name, but one that marked a nice return to basics for Chick! The trio features John Patitucci on bass and Dave Weckl on drums – and both players have a good sense of feeling to match Corea's ... CD
Stretch, 2001. Used 2 CDS
Highlights from a three week stand at the Blue Note in New York City – including collaborations with Bobby McFerrin, Gary Burton, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Roy Haynes and Miroslav Vitous, Michael Brecker, and Corea's own Akoustic Band. CD

Chick Corea

Akoustic Band
GRP, 1989. Used
In the electric universe of the GRP label, Chick Corea makes a bold move with his Akoustic Band here – even if the overall conception of the cover and the group's fashions have kind of an "electric" 80s look to it! The group here is a trio – with John Patitucci on bass and ... CD

McCoy Tyner

Tender Moments
Blue Note (Japan), 1967. Used
An incredibly strong set by McCoy Tyner – one of his best late 60s sides for Blue Note – and a record that really hints at the majesty he'd attain on record in the 70s! The album features Tyner's piano at the head of a large group that includes Lee Morgan on trumpet, Julian Priester on ... CD
Blue Note, Late 50s. Used
One of the few rare non-trio recordings done by Powell from around this time. Bud plays with a trio (Paul Chambers bass, Art Taylor drums) on the whole first section of the record, but the group's then joined by Curtis Fuller for the rest of the set. Fuller's deep trombone makes for a different ... CD
Blue Note, 1963. Used
An amazing album – simply groundbreaking, and a key turn for Jackie McLean! The record features a group of hip young players – including a very young Tony Williams, plus Grachan Moncur III, Bobby Hutcherson, and Eddie Kahn – all playing in a spare contemplative modernist mode ... CD

Kenny Dorham

Trompeta Toccata
Blue Note, 1964. Used
A wonderfully free-thinking set by Kenny Dorham – and a record that really breaks from his earlier work! The album's not exactly experimental, but it features longer tracks with a looser approach than some of Dorham's sweeter shorter work – more in a rhythmically progressive mode that ... CD

Stanley Turrentine

Joyride (RVG remaster edition)
Blue Note, 1965. Used
A very successful album for Blue Note – and one that took the searing tenor sax of Stanley Turrentine and backed it with some boldly soulful arrangements from Oliver Nelson! Nelson was perfect at this sort of session – able to provide full backings that infused the record with energy, ... CD
