One of the best Motortown Revue albums – thanks to a decidedly heavy groove! The album does a great job of showcasing some of the rising talents at Motown at the end of the 60s – and although it does feature work by a few bigger acts, it's the up-and-comers who are the real surprise here – sounding a bit more unbridled in this live setting than on their studio work. Titles include "Does Your Mama Know About Me" and "Malinda" by Bobby Taylor, "I Can't Turn You Loose" and "I Wouldn't Change The Man He Is" by Blinky, "Sing A Simple Song" by The Originals, "Uptight" by Stevie Wonder, "Cloud Nine" by The Temptations, and a number of tracks by Gladys Knight & The Pips, including a very cool "Monologue" track that's a bit like Lou Rawls live! © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
