This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Sublime solo piano – from that early 70s moment when Keith Jarrett was not only finding a whole new voice for himself, but also creating a whole new format in music! A brilliantly evocative album from Pat Metheny – one that's got a quietly epic feel, as Pat and group soar out across the American landscape in a set of tunes that subtly explore space and sound while still remaining wonderfully fluid. A seminal record in the formation of the Pat Metheny sound of the 70s – a set that brings his wonderfully chromatic work on guitar into play with the piano of Lyle Mays – all at a level that's so stripped-down and spacious, you can easily hear all the genius as it unfolds! And yet the ... LP, Vinyl record album
The Oregon sound, still alive and well into the 80s – perhaps given even more room to express itself in an ECM setting like this! The album's a mix of angular notes and warmer tones – very much the experimentalism that the group prided itself on at the time – and which really set ... LP, Vinyl record album
The airy tones of guitarist John Abercrombie find a bit of a different setting here – a slight change from some of his earlier ECM albums, but still with a relatively open vibe overall! Jan Hammer's in the group on keyboards, but sounds thankfully very different than his Miami Vice fame ... LP, Vinyl record album
With Ralph Towner on piano, Prophet 5 synthesizer, cornet, classical guitar, and percussion; Paul McCandless on oboe, bass clarinet, sooprano sax, and English horn; Collin Walcott on tabla, percussion, sitar, and drums; and Glen Moore on bass, flute, and piano. LP, Vinyl record album
A real classic from bassist Miroslav Vitous – and a record that sets up his sound with a great combination of warm tones and sharp edges!
