This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Condition Notes
If something is relevant, we try to describe it in the notes — especially
if it is release or pressing details,
or an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Material from the Flute Souffle and Flute Flight albums – surprisingly great records, and ones that features Herbie and Bobby trading flutes and tenor, blowing long solos in a set that gives them plenty of room to work! The album only features four long tracks – "Tel Aviv", ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sweet 70s funk from the great Herbie Mann – a tight small combo set done with plenty of electric touches! Side one, the "up side", features a core combo that's really great – Pat Rebillot on organ and electric piano, David Spinozza on guitar, Jerry Jemmott on bass, Reggie ... LP, Vinyl record album
An excellent little album from the team of Herbie Mann & Buddy Collette – one that has both players using a wide range of reed instruments, and not just flute! Herbie and Buddy are wonderfully paired here – in a way that expands past the usual flute jazz mode by adding in bits of ... LP, Vinyl record album
Very early work from Herbie Mann – delivered with a lot more fire than some of his later sides! The album's kind of a blend of bop and the 50s chamber jazz mode from which Mann emerged – played with a strong combo that includes Eddie Costa on vibes, Joe Puma on guitar, and Phil Woods ... LP, Vinyl record album
Herbie Mann got a standing ovation for this performance – at least if the title is to be believed – and considering the grooves on the set, it was all for very good reason! The album's one of the few to feature Mann in the company of pianist Chick Corea – who steps out here with ... LP, Vinyl record album
Herbie Mann's soulful flute meets the breezy production values of CTI/A&M, for a good set of tracks that have a light easy feel to them, and a nice post-bossa groove! The set includes a good cover of "Upa, Neguinho", plus "Love Is Stronger Far Than We", "The ... LP, Vinyl record album
The sound of today, circa 1966 – served up by flute man Herbie Mann, who was always at the forefront of music at the time! Herbie's great lead lines are set up nicely in arrangements from Oliver Nelson – those cool, groovy, super-swinging styles that Nelson could hit so perfectly at ... LP, Vinyl record album
A rare treat – 2LPs worth of material by Johnny Hodges, recorded at the end of the 50s, but never issued until this late 70s set! The first disc features a 1959 session, with players that include Harold Baker, Quentin Jackson, Ben Webster, Jimmy Hamilton, and Jo Jones – accompanying ... LP, Vinyl record album
One of the most unusual albums in the career of trumpet legend Chet Baker – done at a time when he was definitely going through some changes in his life, which also led to some changes in his music too! This set's not unlike a similar date that Stan Getz did for Verve around the same time ... LP, Vinyl record album
Great large group material from Gerry Mulligan – and a record that definitely defines the sound of his famous Concert Jazz Band of the early 60s! The group features a four part sax section – headed by Mulligan, with other players that include Zoot Sims on tenor, Gene Allen on baritone, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Cole Porter's tunes are great enough on their own, but Oscar really opens them up on this set – picking up the inherent rhythms in the numbers and really working them over – in a way that makes the outing one of the most lively in Peterson's songbook series for Verve! Oscar's fluid ... LP, Vinyl record album
A great little session – and a meeting that was one of the best things to happen to the Oscar Peterson trio during the 50s! Stan's tone fits perfectly with the group here – and his playing next to the guitar of Herb Ellis recalls many of the fine strengths of the early 50s Getz sides ... LP, Vinyl record album
