Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Used CD Grade

We only use the grade "Used CD" for non-new CDs. This all-encompassing grade was chosen it because we only buy and offer used CDs in the best possible condition.

When you purchase a used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves), and the booklet to be in good shape. Used CDs may show some signs of use, but if there are significant details or defects we will describe the item's condition (just like we do with LPs), so look for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details before ordering.

All of our used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws. After you receive a used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine that it plays correctly. If it does not, you can request a return for a full refund.

Epic/Big Break (UK), 1977. Used
A killer for the Joneses – probably their strongest album all the way through, thanks to some great production and arrangements by Bobby Eli! This one's got the group taking the fragile harmony style of their earlier records, and filtering it through the Philly powerhouse groove to create a ... CD

Two early albums from Barrence Whitfield & The Savages – both on CD for the first time! First up is Dig Yourself – a mid 80s set that hearkens back to the years of 60s soul and garage – served up by one of the hardest working Boston bands of the time – a real precursor ... CD

Collectables, Late 60s. Used
Great collection that appears to take the best of her hits for the Loma label, as well as the stuff she recorded for All Platinum. Hard southern soul sound, by a lady who's always been overlooked. 20 tracks in all, including "Hypnotized", "I Can't Stop Lovin' My Baby", "Gi ... CD

Teddy Rok Seven

Universal Four
Jupiter/Whatmusic (UK), 2004. Used
Groovy, jazzy space soul soundscapes from Finland's Teddy Rok Seven – led by Teppo Makynen – who's worked with like minded scenesters Nu Spirit Helsinki and Five Corners Quintet – but steps out with an amazingly strong full length! The sound is a bit tough to pin down – it's ... CD
Ryko (Japan), 1973. Used Gatefold
One of Frank Zappa's biggest-selling albums of the early 70s and it's also one of his best ever! Over-Nite Sensation finds Zappa's leftfield weirdness and sly social satire at play within adventurous, but accessible arrangements. It's got some early fusiony rock bits paired with heavy drums and ... CD

Elvin Jones

Earth Jones
Quicksilver, 1982. Used
Soaring, righteous sounds from Elvin Jones – an early 80s session, but one that cooks as strongly as his most soulful albums from the 70s! In fact, there's almost a focus or tightness here that could sometimes be missing from other Jones albums – a really bold, sharp use of the group's ... CD
