This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap.
We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't
look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time,
we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape —
which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be
torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played,
the record will still qualify as "Sealed".
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
Awesome session of early hand drum recordings from Trinidad. Largely an ethnomusicological document, this set has some insulting colonialist commentary on the back, but the rhythms in the grooves are totally smoking, with titles like "Drumology", "Calypso In Drums", "Koroma ... The full-length version of the Army Arrangement album, issued here with 3 long tracks – "Army Arrangement", "Cross Examination", and "Government Chicken Boy". The record was recorded in 1985, with Bill Laswell producing, and it's got a bit more of an electro ... LP, Vinyl record album
Strange one for the Imperial label to have released, especially since it's mostly a batch of ethnographic-sounding recordings of tribal tracks, played by the mysterious Uknonu & His Afro-Calypsonians. Despite the invocation of calypso, and any of the pop/exotic connotations it might imply, ... LP, Vinyl record album
Sonny Stitt's going down slow here – hitting a groove that's a bit more laidback than some of his funkier albums for Prestige, but one that's still pretty darn great overall! The sound is almost in a Stanley Turrentine mode at CTI – with fuller arrangements behind his saxophone solos, ... LP, Vinyl record album
A wonderful space disco classic from the years before house music – and a record that's gone on to have a huge influence on generations of dancefloors over the years! The duo of Rinder & Lewis did a number of other projects for the AVI label back in the 70s, but this one may well be ... LP, Vinyl record album
