Used CD Grade
We have only one grade for non-new CDs at Dusty Groove — "Used CD".
This grade is somewhat all-encompassing, but we choose it because we try to offer
Used CDs in the best shape possible.
When you purchase a Used CD you can expect the disc to be free of all but the
lightest of surface marks, the case to be clean (we often change the cases ourselves),
and the booklet to be in good shape.
Used CDs may show some signs of use but if there are significant details or
defects we will list them underneath the item — just like we do with LPs —
so look there for notes on cutout marks, stickers, promo stamps or other details.
All of our Used CDs are guaranteed to play without skipping or flaws.
If you purchase a Used CD from Dusty Groove, you have 1 week to play it to determine
that it plays correctly —
and if it does not, then you may return it for a full refund.
Primo stuff by one of Brazil's undisputed soul music greats! Ed Motta's steeped in a rich tradition of singers that runs back to US legends like Leroy Hutson and Roy Ayers, and Brazilian soulsters like Tim Maia (who's actually Ed's uncle!) And with a lot of his earlier work's out of print it's ... CD
The second album from hip Japanese soul star Bird! Like her first, this one's a stunning array of jazzy and housey grooves – all produced by Shinichi Osawa of Mondo Grosso, who wrote just about all the music on the album. All the lyrics are in Japanese, but the record's got a strong ... CD
A nice one from Badu – one with a depth of feeling and genuine soulful vibes that live up to its title, despite the fact that she records for one of the world's biggest media conglomerates! It's all about the vibe here. Erykah rolls her syllables, scats and emotes feelings more than an ... CD
Fantastic future soul from Bigyuki – an artist who's got a really far-reaching vision for his music – even though his sound is very stripped down overall! The music here is almost a science fiction take on contemporary soul – with these really wonderful, almost sinister keyboards ... CD
A duo who really take the hemispheres in their title seriously – as lyrics and vocals are all by Otis Junior, and the album's spare rhythms and instrumentation are from Dr Dundee! Otis is a hell of a frontman – as he's got this laidback, raspy style that really fits the open, honest ... CD
A millennial classic from Erykah Badu – a set that came along right as the current century was starting up, to show a soulful path that would keep things strong for many years to come! The album grabbed a bigger audience than Erykah's first, but still kept things strong – really ... CD
Lovely work from singer Brigette – recorded with a sound that's warm, sunny, and soulful – and helped out by some nice jazzy touches from guitarists Dori Caymmi and Heito Pereira, and flautist Hubert Laws! There's a quality here that reminds us of some of our favorite jazzy soul of the ... CD
The long-awaited second set from Kindred The Family Soul – a duo who really grabbed us with their excellent Surrender To Love, and who really follow up on its promise with this excellent set! Kindred have a totally righteous sound that's long steeped in traditions of soul and gospel – ... CD
Mindblowing work from Jill Scott – possibly the best thing we've heard from her since her classic debut – and a record that reminds us that she's still one of the greatest soul singers around! Jill's a bit more grown up here than before – shaking off some of the more passive ... CD
The first ever full length collaboration from contemporary soul veterans Musiq Soulchild and Syleena Johnson – and it's by no means a predictable male/female joint R&B record – they're rolling with a sound enriched by their mutual love of reggae! Musiq and Syleena both went through ... CD
The second album from the immortal Tribe Called Quest – one of the absolute essential hip hop LPs, and a record that should be an anyone's shortlist of the best albums in several subsections of hip hop – just a straight up masterpiece anyway you cut it. The album is so high up on the ... CD
