The poem here is written on the piano of Yuya Wakai, a wonderfully sensitive player who manages to create all these lyrical twists and turns, while still maintaining a gentle swing! The album features mostly original material by the members of the group – a trio that includes Satsuki Kusui on bass and Shun Ishiwaka on drums – both players who have this way of matching the thoughtful, organic qualities of Wakai on piano – sometimes with this chunky, almost angular energy – other times with a more fluid approach overall. The whole thing's great – a record of fresh discovery, both in terms of the tunes and the players – on titles that include "Interlude Poem 1", "New Waltz", "White Out", "Waltz 11", "In Love In The Rain", and "Sansevieria".
