✨✧ Chet BakerChet Baker Quartet (Pacific Jazz – PJLP 3) (10 inch LP) ... LP
Pacific Jazz, 1953. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
Mindblowing early work from Chet Baker – quite possibly as clear a statement of the young trumpeter's genius as you might hope to find, served up here in a beautiful 10" LP package! The tracks are short, sweet, and very much to the point – but they already display a tremendous approach to the trumpet that was different from any other player – a sound that's recorded cleanly and clearly throughout, without any vocals at all. The great Russ Freeman is on piano, and titles include "The Lamp Is Low", "Russ Job", "Batter Up", "Easy To Love", and "Maid In Mexico". LP, Vinyl record album
(Nice and clean – and cover is nice too, with just a small bit of light wear in one corner.)

✨✧ Gerry Mulligan QuartetGerry Mulligan Quartet (Pacific Jazz – PJLP 5) (10 inch LP) ... LP
Pacific Jazz, 1953. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A seminal session from Gerry Mulligan – one of his 50s quartet recordings with Chet Baker, in a group that also includes Carson Smith on bass and Larry Bunker on drums. The pianoless quartet grooves nicely in a twin-horn frontline – gliding effortlessly through tunes that include "I May Be Wrong", "Jeru", "Swinghouse", "Darn That Dream", and "Love Me Or Leave Me". LP, Vinyl record album
(Original pressing – a beautiful copy!)

✨✧ Chet BakerChet Baker Quartet Featuring Russ Freeman (10 inch LP) (PJLP 6) ... LP
Pacific Jazz, Mid 50s. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
A great no-nonsense session from Chet Baker – blowing here with Russ Freeman on piano, blocking out backgrounds that work perfectly with the fragile tone of Chet's horn. The rest of the group features Carson Smith on bass and Larry Bunker on drums – and titles include "Bea's Flat", "Moon Love", "Happy Little Sunbeam", "No Ties", and "Band Aid". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Gerry Mulligan QuartetGerry Mulligan Quartet (Pacific Jazz – PJLP 2) (10-inch) ... LP
Pacific Jazz, 1953. Very Good ... Out Of Stock
Gerry's second 10" album for the Pacific Jazz label – and almost as groundbreaking as the first! Not only is the quartet with Chet Baker featured strongly on side 1 – with classics that include "Cherry", "Carson City Stage", and "Motel" – but Lee Konitz joins the group on side two, cutting things up with his angular alto sax – a sound that's beautifully placed next to the poised horns of Mulligan and Baker, in a way that really gives the record even more life! Titles on that side include "Sextet", "I Can't Believe That You're In Love With Me", "Lover Man", and "Lady Be Good". LP, Vinyl record album
