Jackie Mittoo may be basking in the spotlight these days, but GladdyAnderson was no joke on the keys either, and if your hip to Jackie's slick vibe, you need to get open on Gladdy! He plays piano on these Harry Mudie produced grooves, with a mellow, laidback vibe that leans nicely towards a Jamaican take on some of our favorite Young Holt sides, with a smooth but still nicely bouncing soulful vibe rippling over the syncopated island rhythms. 10 tracks in all, including "Sound In Symphony", "It's Not That Easy", "Rocking The Drifter", "Yours To Remember", "Everybody Knows" and "Gone Is Love". LP, Vinyl record album
(Includes poster. Cover has a bit of wear, and some tape near the top. Vinyl is nice!)
One of our favorite early 70s Harry Mudie sides, filled with moody instrumental soul reggae numbers from pianist GladstoneAnderson! The sound is great – done with a wonderful rolling soulful vibe that wouldn't be out of place on Brunswick or Cadet soul single from Chicago – and the album grooves along nicely with some sophisticated, soulful arrangements laid over top some easy skanking Jamaican grooves! If you're hip to Jackie Mittoo's funky burning organ, you need to get down with Gladdy's mellow groovin' piano! 10 tracks in all, including "It May Sound Silly", "Portrait Of Inga", "Reggae Delight", "Feel Like Dancing", "Leaving Rome" and "Crazy Skank". LP, Vinyl record album
(Jamaican orange M label pressing on Moodisc, with deep groove! Vinyl is very nice, but has a short click on side two. Cover has light staining in one corner, and some light scratches too.)
