The only solo album ever recorded by Peter Sinfield – an artist who made key contributions to both King Crimson and Emerson Lake
– and also had a strong role as a producer, which included seminal sounds with Roxy Music too! This album's got elements of all those many sides of Pete's career, yet also has a very distinct voice too – maybe some rootsier guitar phrasing that's a nice counterpoint to the more complex wordplay of his lyrics – still given some proggy production, but in a nicely understated way. There's definitely some echoes of the earliest King Crimson records in place – and Sinfield gets help on the record from key Crimson associates who include Greg Lake
, John Wetton, and Mel Collins – the last of whom is an especial delight with his sensitive reed contributions. Titles include "The Song Of The Sea Goat", "Envelopes Of Yesterday", "The Piper", "The Night People", "Still", and "Wholefood Boogie". Features two bonus tracks from the sessions – "Hanging Fire" and "Can You Forgive A Fool".
(Limited edition remastered 180 gram pressing on pink vinyl! Done in a great die-cut gatefold cover, too.)
