Very fluid, freewheeling sounds from this Finnish quintet – material recorded relatively early in the career of some of the musicians, and already showing a tremendous ear for the sorts of fresh styles they'd create in years to come! The group is co-led by Jimi Tenor and Edward Vesala
– both of whom produce – and the music is a mix of improvised jazz, electronics, and some very cool production effects – all used in ways that are looser and with more edge than some of the other sides of the Scandinavian scene were handling with jazz during the same generation. Tenor plays flute, tenor, and other instruments – Vesala
handles drums and other instruments too – and the group also features a bit of harp from Iro Haarla, programming from Jimi Sumen, and instrument design and construction from Matti Knaapi. Titles include "Sergei", "Auloharp", "Ball Bearing", "Dumpster Diving", "Heat Birth", and "Dangerous Crossing".
