A really lovely later score from Ennio Morricone – done for the final film of Marcello Mastroianni, and with a subtle sense of grace that echoes some of his best from earlier years! Much of the music has a lean focus that's different than some of the larger, lusher scores that Morricone was giving bigger pictures on the global scene – and there's a nice balance of isolated instrumentation, occasional atonal moments, and even great use of female vocals in an old school way – sung here by DulcePontes on two tracks. Most of the selections are much longer songs than standard film cues – and titles include "Assassinato", "Chitarre", "Il Simbolo", "A Brisa Do Coracao", "Rotativa", and "Manifestazioni". CD
