Dusty Groove CoffeeEverybody Loves The Sunshine Coffee – 12oz bag (whole bean) ... Misc
Dark Matter/Dusty Groove Gear, 2015. New Item ... $13.99
A wonderful coffee that lives up to its name – roasted especially by the folks at Chicago's Dark Matter for our coffee drinking needs here at Dusty Groove! The base component to this blend is a coffee from Mexico and grown and milled at a cooperative called El Eden – very unique for a Mexican coffee, with a flavor profile that includes blueberry, banana, and baker's chocolate to give the blend a bit of depth. This base is then highlighted with a coffee from Guatemala grown by Finca San Jeronimo Miramar – which adds both body, and some lighter notes of toffee and praline – to give the whole thing a wonderful sun-drenched finish! Apollo Brown & StalleyBlacklight (neon green vinyl pressing) ... LP
Mello Music Group, 2022. New Copy ... $22.99 34.99
Stalley is great here amidst production work from Apollo Brown – who gives the record this cool groove that's almost cinematic at times – lots of rich sonic elements, but used in these really focused ways – so that when Stalley's voice comes out front in the mix, it's supported by plenty of power, yet never overwhelmed! The approach gives the MC a great sort of intensity – perfect for his slower-stepping rhymes, on titles that include "Bobby Bonilla", "Love Me Love Me Not", "No Monsters", "Humble Wins", "We Outside", "Lost Angeles", "Blacklight", "Broad Spectrum", and "What The Hook Gon Be". Chet BakerChet Baker At Capolinea (Red) ... LP
Red (Italy), 1983. Very Good+ ... $24.99
A sweet Italian set from Chet Baker – from a scene that always seemed to bring out his most lyrical side – and a record that's done in that easy, open, understated style that makes us love Baker's last decade so much! Back in the day, folks only zeroed in on classic Chet from the 50s – but they were really missing a lot by not hearing a record like this – as Baker, although aged and world-weary, is also a master of color, tone, and phrasing – really able to bring a lot more emotion into his music, but in very subtle ways – and matched here by a really wonderful lineup – with players who include Nicola Stilo on flute, Diane Varvra on soprano, and Michel Grallier on piano. And as with so much late Baker, although the tunes are familiar, the execution is unique – on titles that include "Dream Drop", "Estate", "Francamente", "Finestra Sul Mare", and "Lament". Chet Baker, Helen Merrill, & OthersPassaporto Per L'Italia ... LP
RCA/Dialogo (Italy), 1962. New Copy (reissue)... $35.99 36.99
A very cool album from the Italian branch of RCA Records – and a set that features a host of artists from other nations who briefly stopped over in Italy, and recorded some of these gems for the label! There's a core energy to the set, which balances contributions from a few key artists, mostly from America – and for jazz fans alone, the set is noteworthy for two tracks that have trumpeter Chet Baker blowing with orchestrations from a young Ennio Morricone – "So Che Ti Perdero" and "Il Mio Domani"! And there's plenty of other great bits too – singer Helen Merrill working with maestro Armando Trovajoli on "Nessuno Al Mondo" and "Estate" – plus Perez Prado on "Guaglione" and "Arrivederci Roma", Antonio Prieto on "Papa" and "Baciami", and even some very cool cuts from young poppers Paul Anka and Neil Sedaka. A really wonderful album from this ever-changing Brazilian group – a combo who started out in more standard Afro Funk modes years ago, but who've really shifted their music in all sorts of great ways over recent albums! There's still some strong use of horns and heavy percussion throughout – but they also work in keyboards and electronics in these really great ways – almost echoing some Brazilian musical experiments from that Trama Records generation at the start of the century, while also holding true to the more acoustic elements at their roots! A landmark album that forever changed the face of live recordings – and soul music too! As has been told and retold often, King records not only had the genius idea of bringing recording equipment into the Apollo Theater to catch James in a smoking live setting – the sort of show that really set his fans on fire – but they also went out of their way to record and re-record the audience, creating a wonderful interplay on the record between James and the crowd. The result is the stuff of legend – and the record's filled with loads of nice tracks like "I'll Go Crazy", "Try Me", "I Don't Mind", "Lost Someone", "Think", "Night Train", and the massive medley featuring "Please Please Please/You've Got The Power/I Found Someone/Why Do You Do Me/I Want You So Bad/I Love You Yes I Do/Strange Things Happen". ✨✧ Capon/Mate/Morris/RahoersonCapon/Mate/Morris/Rahoerson ... CD
Palm/Souffle Continu (France), 1977. New Copy ... Just Sold Out!
A lost treasure on the legendary Palm Records label – that famous French avant jazz imprint owned by pianist Jef Gilson, and which issued some of the most creative albums on the scene in the 70s! This set is maybe one of the most obscure – a record that's noteworthy not only for important early work from later composer Butch Morris on cornet, but also for the really unusual interplay between the musicians – a quartet that features Jean Charles Capon on cello, Philippe Mate on tenor, and Serge Rahoerson on drums! There's a loose, open feel going on – but a vibe that's different than some other piano-less groups of this nature – maybe in part because Capon seems to have a lot of presence with his cello, almost directing the proceedings at times – and also because the layering of elements always seems to have an inherent structure, even when relatively free. Titles include "Complainte", "Mode De Fa/Salegy Drums Solo", "Orly Ivato", "Blues For Guy Labory", and "Spanish Cake Walk". CD

✨✧ Papo Felix & Ray RodriguezPapo Felix Meets Ray Rodriguez ... LP
Ghetto/Now Again, 1971. New Copy (reissue)... $23.99 27.99
A killer set of New York Latin from vocalist Papo Felix and bandleader Ray Rodriguez – recorded slightly after the Latin Soul generation, but done with plenty of dark little edges – thanks to production from Joe Bataan! There's a bit of salsa in the mix here, and a bit of descarga jazz too – all coming together in a tightly rhythmic mode that's almost better than most of the bigger name work coming from the scene at the time. Most tunes have a sharp, catchy sort of groove – definitely an heir to the Latin Soul sound – and titles include "Senor Fluta", "Felix The Cat", "Workout (parts 1 & 2)", "Para Puerto Rico Voy", "Bob & Bill In Manor E", and "Hechate Pa Ya". LoveDa Capo ... LP
Elektra, 1967. Near Mint- ... $29.99
A stunning second album from Love – a set that's still without the fuller orchestrations and baroque touches of Forever Changes – but which already shows the group moving in that direction! The rough, gritty edge of the group is very firmly intact – but they've already got a really fresh way of putting over a song – by complicating the rhythms a bit, going for unusual tonal colors, and furthering the really imaginative songwriting of Arthur Lee. Side one features some incredibly haunting shorter tunes that point the way towards Forever Changes – including the insanely wonderful "She Comes In Colors", the Latin-tinged "Que Vida", and the cuts "Stephanie Knows Who", "The Castle", and "Seven & Seven Is". Side two is a total freak-out – an 18 minute bluesy guitar jam, very over the top stuff – and quite unusual in length for a rock album in 1966! LP, Vinyl record album

Franco MicalizziNapoli Violenta – Original Soundtrack ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1976. New Copy ... $14.99 15.99
A classic 70s Italian crime soundtrack – presented here in full format for the first time ever, and filled with wonderful tunes in a variety of styles! There's a quality to the music that really matches the badass image on the front – a bold, forceful approach that has the upbeat numbers strutting along with plenty of pride – and which has the mellower, more brooding tracks working themes that are simple, but which pack the same force as the revolver on the cover. Franco Micalizzi uses some great keyboards throughout – often a bit light, with a style that's sometimes veering towards electric harpsichord, but other times in a more Goblin-like mode – almost horror-styled, especially when interwoven with acoustic piano. Tunes build up with force as the soundtrack rolls on – and this CD reissue features a whopping 30 tracks in all – with titles that include "Bloody Robbery", "Rush For A Sign", "Betti's Investigation", "Criminals At Work", "Useless Waiting", "Crime Outcome", "Folk & Violence", "Ten Minutes To One", and the vocal number "A Man Before Your Time". Charles Mingus & John LaPortaJazzical Moods (Vols 1 & 2) ... CD
Period/OJC, 1954. Used ... Just Sold Out!
Fantastic mid-50's work by Mingus, and a pivotal pair of recordings that clearly show his transition from bop bassist to groundbreaking modernist. The CD brings together two rare 10" albums that originally came out on the Period label in 1954. The albums are also noteworthy for the incredible talents of reed player John LaPorta, a mid-50's Mingus collaborator, and one of the most overlooked geniuses of that decade's jazz scene. Other players include John LaPorta, Thad Jones, and Clem DeRosa – and the titles are a good mix of originals and strangely-arranged standards (which were sort of Mingus' trademark at the time). Includes "The Spur Of The Moment/Echonitus", "Stormy Weather", "Minor Intrusion", "Four Hands", and "Thrice Upon A Theme". CD

Debut, 1954. Near Mint- ... $9.99
A beautiful early session on Charles Mingus' Debut Records label – one that features singer Ada Moore – a thin-voiced, yet soulful songstress with an edgey sort of tone! The album's got lots of nice rough edges that take it away from the cliched vocal album of the time – including searingly modern solos from LaPorta, slightly muted guitar work from Farlow, and an overall recording style that's very "roomy" – with almost a loft-like feel to the set. Titles include "Something To Live For", "Strange Fascination", "Devil Is A Woman", and "Lass From The Low Country". LP, Vinyl record album

NG (Italy), 2024. New Copy ... $34.99 38.99
The new sound of Naples from this hip Italian duo – served up here in a blend of mighty nice clubby modes! There's definitely an 80s inspiration to the music – lots of lean keyboards and basslines, and plenty of boogie grooves – but the use of Italian vocals and occasional larger instrumentation also opens up other currents too – particularly some of those 80s EU club tracks where influences were flowing into the scene from West Africa and other points south. The keyboards alone are worth the price of admission, with lots of moogy moments – and titles include "Stann Fore", "Ddoje Facce", "Disco Sole", "Je Vulesse", "A Voce E Napule", and "Parev Ajere". An excellent 70s outing by Orquesta Broadway – grooving hard in the new charanga groove that helped older acts like them hit a fresh new audience at the time. The album's got some great electric bass driving the group, echoing away darkly under the flute and violin solos – and titles include "Presentimiento", "Isla Del Encanto", "Arrepientete", "El Material", "Guajira Del Amor", and "Barrio Del Pilar". Viejas Raices (Jorge Lopez Ruiz & Pocho Lapouble)Viejas Raices De Las Colonias del Rio De La Plata ... CD
Trova/RGS (Argentina), 1976. New Copy ... $13.99 16.99
One of the coolest records we've ever heard from this legendary Argentine pianist – a set that has Jorge Lopez Ruiz playing lots of Fender Rhodes, and mixing it in with both rootsy Latin percussion and a number of other keyboards too! The set's almost a South American version of some of Herbie Hancock's work with the Headhunters – with more traditional percussion passages in the mix, but blended with sounds that include Arp and mini-moog too – which gives the whole thing a criss-crossing vibe that alternates from the surface of the planet to the deeper ranges of the cosmos! Ruiz is wonderful throughout – often very spacious, in a thoughtful way that only makes each note have more power – and titles include "La Hora De La Sed Maldita", "Eterna Prescencia", "Mira Tu", "El Viaje De Dumpty", "Balewada", and "Para Nostros Solamente". ✨✧ SapoSapo (Japanese paper sleeve edition) ... CD
Bell/Big Pink (South Korea), 1974. New Copy ... $18.99 24.99
A killer bit of Latin funk from the west coast scene of the 70s – the only album we've ever seen from Sapo, but a set that almost blows away the efforts of bigger groups like Malo or El Chicano! There's a bit more funk in the mix here than in some of the group's contemporaries – a leaner, more soulful sound that's totally great – and topped with these cool compressed vocals from singer Richard Bean, who's got a very distinctive approach! The rhythms are wonderful – and the album explodes with great tracks that combine equal parts Latin, funk, and soul – all in a way that really lives up to the best promise of such a combination – and never falls too heavily on one or the other side of the fence. Titles include the killer break track "Been Had", the slamming electric jam "Ritmo Del Corazon", the fast modal groover "It's The Music", and the massive "Sapo's Montuno", with some very lively solos! Other cuts include "Nina", "Get It On", and "Can't Make It". CD

Concord, 2021. Used ... $11.99
One of the hippest records we've ever heard from Esperanza Spalding – a set that almost feels as if she's stepping back into some of the more experimental, individual qualities that made her so different at the start! There's definitely some appealing, catchy songs here – but the record is one to definitely be taken as a whole – this really lovely tapestry of voice and music that shimmers and glistens throughout – tunes that work together as a single suite that really keeps the album sounding fantastic all the way through, in this blend of jazz and soul that comes not just from Esperanza's vocals and work on bass, but also from the piano of Leo Genovese, who co-wrote most of the material on the album. Wayne Shorter plays on one track, the record features guest vocals from Corey King and Ganavya, and the set features 13 tracks, all numerically titled "Formwela". CD

Brainfeeder, 2013. New Copy (reissue)... $36.99 38.99
A really genre-transforming record from Thundercat – music that opened the door to a whole generation of experiments on both sides of the Atlantic in years to come! Flying Lotus is a key musical partner here, and the record moves effortlessly between soul and funk, jazz and cosmic currents – nodding at a few moments to hip hop and other contemporary styles, but always with that visionary approach that's made Thundercat such a force to reckon with over the years! And yes, there had been other attempts to hit this territory in the decade before – but this is one of the few records that really feels like it's getting the approach right, and moving the needle forward – thanks to tracks that include "We'll Die", "Tron Song", "Seven", "Oh Sheit It's X", "Without You", "Life Aquatic", "Tenfold", and "Heartbreaks + Setbacks". Da Capo, 2016. New Copy ... $7.99 25.99
An insanely detailed book on the role of drugs in American music – written by a guy who's already written a fair bit about drugs and culture! This time around, Martin Torgoff turns his eye towards the postwar years – looking at the interwoven landscapes of jazz, underground culture, and drugs from the late 40s through the 60s – with chapters that look at both famous figures and lesser-known personas – in a list that includes Billie Holiday, Lester Young, William S Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Charlie Parker, and many more. The book's filled with short chapters that almost each read like a story themselves – never too exploitative, and often never with any sort of judgement at all – just surprising detail about the relation between drugs and performance, writing, or other artistic creation. These short chapters work well to weave together a world behind the scenes – subtle forces that later shaped more famous creations – and the book is a hefty 412 pages, with some black and white images. ✨✧ VariousGood God – Apocryphal Hymns ... CD
Numero, 1970s. Used ... Just Sold Out!
Hardly the gospel of your father's generation – and hardly even the gospel of previous Numero releases either – as the set's a wonderfully offbeat batch of tracks that definitely lives up to the "apocryphal" in the title! Production sounds and musical styles go way past the mainstream – and lots of these numbers feel like secular soul from the definite left end of the spectrum in the 70s – especially the mellower cuts, which have a trippy quality that comes from weird instrumentation and unusual studio work – often matched by vocal presentation that's anything but spiritual, and which feels more like Darondo overall! These tunes are a real discovery – a deeper level of unusual gospel recordings than even the funk and or soul sides featured on other compilations – all pulled from the hinterland of self-released albums and singles from back in the day. As usual, Numero's done as great of job with the notes and packaging as they have with the music – really telling the full tale of this unusual stream of music – in a smoking set that features "That's All I Need" by Sensational Saints, "A Message Especially From God" by Robert Vanderbilt & The Foundation Of Souls, "Come Holy Spirit" by God's Band, "Faith" by Soul Superiors, "Can't Run This Race Alone" by Flying Eagles Gospel Singers, "Searching For The Truth" by Dwain Vinyard, "Get Involved" by Jonah Thompson, and "I Hear You Calling" by Francis Reneau & The Mission Singers. ✨✧ Pete Christlieb & Warne MarshApogee ... CD
Warner, 1978. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A brilliant set of post-post-post Konitz jazz – a late 70s Warne Marsh session, produced by Donald Fagan and Walter Becker of Steely Dan! Despite the smooth jazz feeling of Becker & Fagan's own work, the pair are completely respectful to Marsh and his twin-tenor frontman Pete Christlieb – recording them along with Lou Levy on piano, Jim Hughart on bass, and Nick Ceroli on drums, in a setting that's got a warm, acoustic feel. There's no tricks or electricity on the set – just a tight, angular approach to modern jazz – crafted in the twin-sax mode that Marsh recorded in often during the 50s. Titles include "Magnatism", "317 E 32nd", "Rapunzel", and "Tenors Of The Time". CD also features 3 bonus tracks – "Lunarcy", "Love Me", and "How About You". CD

✨✧ CzarfaceFirst Weapon Drawn (blue vinyl pressing with comic book) ... LP
Silver Age/Virgin, 2017. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A set that really pushes the Czarface legacy further, and maybe even away from its origins in hip hop – as the LP/comic book package has mostly instrumental contributions from 7L, but structured together as a film score for the comic! There's some narration too, but really just in a way to link together the tracks – and the whole thing bursts out with the sort of vivid energy you'd guess from the Marvel-styled image on the front! Artwork is by Gilberto Aguirre Mata – and titles include "A Falling Czar", "Squared Portal", "Funky Premonition", "Something Once Human", "Death Of A Comrade", and "Czartusi". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Franco MicalizziNapoli Violenta – Original Soundtrack ... CD
Beat (Italy), 1976. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Beat (Italy), 1970. Used ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
A haunting little western score from Bruno Nicolai – one with some great sensitive moments that really deepen the sound! There's a few driving numbers that are more of what you'd expect from a western at the time – but much of the score features these slow moving, sad-tinged instrumentals that are really beautiful – unfolding gently, often with a light guitar line, a bit of keyboards, and especially some flute (or is it recorder?) – moving moodily forward in a really nice way. Tension builds a bit as the set moves on, but never overwhelms – and the CD features 21 tracks in all, with great remastering! CD

✨✧ Juliette VolclerExtremely Loud – Sound As A Weapon (hardcover) ... Book
New Press, 2011. New Copy ... Temporarily Out Of Stock
Here's a book that will blow your mind – and your ears as well – a richly detailed look at the way that sound has been used as a weapon – both as a direct force of sonic power, and as a more subtle means of disturbing space and human activity! The writer is as direct as the title, which is great – because the book is a no-punches-pulled look at the way that sound can really be used to screw things up – with a look at certain frequencies, tones, and modes of employment – some done in secret, others more overt – by those who seek to turn one of our key senses against us. The book is a well-crafted blend of history, science, and theory – with notes on the contents – and this hardcover version is 197 pages in length. Book

We have to be honest, by this point we'd all but given up on George. But the truth is, Clinton and crew have pulled off a decent job of turning the tables on the whole G-funk scene, and taking a page or two out of their book, after they'd done the same to him for years! While we'd never claim this is best work, it's held up a fair bit better to the test of time than you might imagine! Atlantic/Label M, 1971. Used ... Out Of Stock
A monster album that's gone onto influence a generation – but which was barely recognized at the time! Singer Eugene McDaniels had scored big with some pop hits in the 60s under the name Gene McDaniels – but here, he steps out in a righteous batch of offbeat funk tunes – filled with politics, offbeat rhythms, and some very weird instrumentation. The whole thing's awash in moody, jazzy changes – of the style that showed up often in samples by Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys, and other artists who drew keen inspiration from this record. Titles include the massive "Jagger the Dagger" – plus "The Lord Is Back", "Lovin Man", "Headless Heroes", "Freedom Death Dance", and "Supermarket Blues". CD

Atlantic (UK), 1971. Used ... Out Of Stock
2 albums by the great Eugene McDaniels – back to back on one CD! Headless Heroes is a holy grail for funk collectors – and one that we can't believe got reissued! The record is a monstrously moody LP of jazzy changes and groovy vocals with the classic "Jagger the Dagger", which was sampled to great fame by Tribe Called Quest. The title track was used by the Beasties, and lord knows all of you are looking for more. The rest of this is as groovy as those tracks, with lots of nice moody bits and very righteous lyrics. Other titles include "Supermarket Blues", "Freedom Death Dance", "The Parasite", and "Lovin' Man". Outlaw is a mix of rock and soul that features a strong political message that's probably best embodied in the statment on the back that reads "Under conditions of national emergency, like now, there are only two kinds of people – those who work for freedom, and those who do not: the good guys vs the bad guys". The sound of the record is similar to McDaniels' classic Headless Heroes album (recorded after this one), with jazzy backing, and righteous vocals by the man. Titles include "Love Letter To America", "Black Boy", "Outlaw", and "Sagittarius Red". CD

One of many unoffical Prince recordings that started to become unearthed in the 80s, and though the sleeve says these recordings are from 1977, we'd argue that they were likely a bit later than that, as there's definitely a distinctly 80s feel to the tracks, which were recorded with lineup including Andre Cymone and Pepe Willie. 6 tracks in all, mostly instrumental though a couple have some spots of female vocals: "If You Feel Like Dancin", "Lovin Cup", "Games", "Just Another Sucker", "Dance To The Music Of The World" and "One Man Jam". One of the sweetest, funkiest 70s sets from reedman David Fathead Newman – an album that has the saxophonist blowing over some great arrangements from William Eaton – who brings in a full sound that almost gives the album a soundtrack sort of vibe! Newman's tenor, alto, and flute get plenty of solo space throughout – and the richer arrangements by Eaton really bring in a strong set of feeling to the record – a depth that David wouldn't have been able to achieve on his own, and which really seems to influence the level of his solos. Other players are great too – and include Richard Tee on organ, Cornell Dupree on guitar, and Bernard Purdie on drums – and the set includes a number of tracks by Allen Toussaint, including "Yes We Can Can", "Happy Times", and "Freedom For The Stallion". ✨✧ SapoSapo ... LP
Bell, 1974. Near Mint- ... Out Of Stock
Crack Latin from trombonist Papo Vazquez – one of the strongest sets we've ever heard from Cubop Records, a label that's always pretty darn great! Vazquez' vision here is quite strong – working with a big group to craft some tunes that are surprisingly lean while still managing to be deep and evocative. Papo's horn is at the lead – working in in a style that seems to stretch back to older work by Chico O'Farrill, but which also pushes on in a combination of Puerto Rican salsa and west coast Latin jazz. A great little soundtrack that's as hard-hitting as its cover image – filled with a mix of Italian crime/cop modes of the 70s, plus some sweeter, more melodic moments as well! There's a depth here that goes beyond some of the typical crime scores of the period – and although some of the tunes are heavy on wah-wah guitar and horns, others employ more sophisticated orchestrations that come across in a variety of different styles. Some tunes are tense, some are spare and beautiful, and still others have a full-on sense of drama that's really great – all supported by wonderful artwork throughout the whole CD package, plus notes in English and Italian. Most tracks are relatively short, and titles include "Everybody Has To Live", "Elena", "Double Gaming", "A Bursting Punishment", "Violent Life", "A Paper Separe", "The Train Robbery", "The Lady From France", and "Smooth Thrill". Also features a bonus mpeg interview with the director! CD

✨✧ Ronald LangestraatApollo ... LP
South Of North (Netherlands), Early 90s. New Copy ... Out Of Stock
A mighty nice combination of sounds – nice and lean, recorded both live and in a home studio – then wrapped together with that special sort of magic that Ronald Langestraat brings to his albums! At the time of the date, Langestraat was playing daily in the Apollo Hotel in Amsterdam – and the music here features live cuts he recorded during those performances, which were then augmented back at home – in a mix of modes that has Ronald on both acoustic piano and plenty of Yamaha and Roland keyboards over drum machine rhythms – while also adding in some clarinet, soprano sax, and even a bit of voice in a few spots! The music isn't entirely jazz, but it's also leaner than soulful fusion too – a really personal, unique blend that's totally great – on titles that include "Music From Outer Space", "A Fast Drive Through The Universe", "Orpheus", "Worldwide Clarinet", "Space Train", and a nice take on the Boz Scaggs classic "Lowdown". Debut/OJC, 1954. Used ... Out Of Stock
CD features 4 bonus alternate tracks! CD

✨✧ Jeanne NapoliJeanne ... LP
Vigor, 1976. Very Good+ ... Out Of Stock
One of the forgotten stars of the De-Lite/Vigor Records label of the 70s – a female singer who does a great job here with some nice crossover disco material recorded in Philly! Jeanne's got a vibe that's maybe a bit more down to earth than some of the trashed-up divas trying to jam into the scene – a quality that really sets the album apart, and which works well to balance the more polished arrangements from Bhen Lazaroni. A bit surprise is also the presence of Kool & The Gang – who show up on the final cut, "Stop Look & Listen" – a mellow stepper that has a great laidback east coast vibe! Other titles include "Are You Ready For This", "Come To My Room", "Goodbye Traveler", "Forget That Girl", "Tired Of Writing Songs", "Let's Make Love", and "Do Those Little Things". CD features a bonus 12" version of "Let's Make Love". LP, Vinyl record album

✨✧ Public EnemyApocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black ... CD
Def Jam, 1991. Used ... Out Of Stock
Maybe one of the last moments of genius from Public Enemy – and a set that still has their power and politics very much at the top of their game! The message may even be more powerful than the music at points – no surprise for Chuck D and crew at this point in their career – but in comparison to so many other weaker records from the time, the whole thing's still held up very well with age – and has managed to slide strongly into the rest of their previous catalog. Titles include their popular "Bring Tha Noize" duet with Anthrax – plus "Get the F–- Outta Dodge", "Can't Truss It", "By The Time I Get To Arizona", "Nighttrain", "Shut Em Down", "A Letter To The New York Post", "1 Million Bottlebags", and "More News At 11".
