There's definitely an art to the way that Bennie Wallace handles the saxophone – a style that's schooled in all the best references from the old days, but cast in some fresher, sharper tones as well! Side two shows two different sides of Blue Note, with Cecil Taylor appearing in a solo setting, performing the lengthy "Pontos Cantados" and the then contemporary Blue Note artist Bennie Wallace leading a Newk-inspired pianoless trio, with McBee and DeJohnette reprising their rhythm section role on "Broadside".
