Tarheel Stomp

Temporarily Out Of Stock

LP, Vinyl record album

✈
❔

Tarheel blues recorded in Chapel Hill in 1973 – a record that's heavy on vocals and piano from Boogie Woogie Red, but which also featuers a few tracks by JB Hutto on vocals and guitar, and one more from Eddie Burns.  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Cover seams are unglued, but vinyl is great, and cover is excellent otherwise.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Electric Mud
Cadet, 1968. Near Mint-
The funk-tinged, pyschedelic soul album from Muddy Waters – one that irritated many a blues purist in its day – but it's finally reaching its earned status as a leftfield gem! Albert King

Born Under A Bad Sign
Stax, 1967. Near Mint-
One of THE electric blues records of the 60s – a seminal set by Albert King that was probably blasted out of more college dorm rooms than southside juke joints, but which still more than deserves its due! The set was recorded by Stax with a nice raw sound – guitar very much upfront, ... LP, Vinyl record album

Sonny Boy Williamson

One Way Out
Chess, Late 50s/Early 60s. Near Mint-
A great little collection of work that Sonny Boy Williamson recorded for Chess in the 50s and early 60s – presented here as one of the well-done archival packages that Chess was doing in the early 70s, as interest in their classics was coming back again. Slim Harpo

Tip On In
Excello, Late 60s. Very Good-
One of the last albums ever from the mighty Slim Harpo – but also one of the best, as the bluesman is giving plenty of nods to the funk and soul artists who were influenced by his music – and returning the favor with a wonderfully raw set of grooves! Slim's a master on all fronts ... LP, Vinyl record album

Slim Harpo

Raining In My Heart
Excello, Early 60s. Very Good
Classic work from Slim Harpo – an album that kicks off with one of his biggest hits ever, and follows with plenty of great tunes as well!
