Sealed

This is what it says, that the record is still held fast in shrink-wrap. We tend to be pretty suspicious about these things, so if the shrink-wrap doesn't look original, or if the record seems to have undergone some damage over time, we'll probably take it out of the wrapper to ensure that it's in good shape — which is why we don't have more of these. In some cases the shrink-wrap may be torn in spots, but if it's not possible the record has been taken out and played, the record will still qualify as "Sealed".

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Kraftwerk

Autobahn
Vertigo, 1974. Very Good-
A groundbreaking record from Kraftwerk – a set that unified the 70s worlds of analogue electronics and prog rock – yet somehow managed to set the scene for a whole new sound to come! Tim Hardin

Tim Hardin 2
Verve, 1967. Very Good-
A beautiful album that inspired lots of other artists from Scott Walker to Leonard Nimoy! Like some of the other albums on the Verve Forecast imprint, this set combines the hip, jazzy Verve aesthetic with parent label MGM's pop sensibilities, which add up to some great settings for Hardin's down ... David Bowie

Hunky Dory
RCA, 1971. Near Mint-
Quite possibly David Bowie's first complete moment of genius – an incredibly-formed album that's filled with tunes beyond definition and description! Love

Four Sail
Elektra, 1969. Very Good-
Much more of a hard rock affair than the group's third LP – kind of a return to the heavy guitars of Da Capo after the baroque beauty of Forever Changes – but a stone winner nonetheless! Arthur Lee's genius is still firmly in place, and although there's a back to basics rock feel on ... LP, Vinyl record album

Aphrodite's Child

Vertigo, 1970. Very Good- 2LP Gatefold
One of the coolest rock concept albums ever – and arguably the crowning moment for Aphrodite's Child – an incredibly hip Greek group from the early 70s – featuring a young Demis Roussos on vocals, and Vangelis Papathanassiou on organ, piano, vibes, flute, and a lot of other ... Hijack
Atco, 1974. Very Good-
One of the most widely-circulated albums from the second incarnation of Amon Duul – and one of the most striking as well! Track, 1968. Very Good-
A wild, far reaching psychedelic rock kaleidoscope from Arthur Brown and his Crazy World! Norman Connors

Love From The Sun
Buddah, 1973. Near Mint- Gatefold
A spiritual jazz masterpiece from drummer Norman Connors – one of those unique albums he cut before moving into soul music – done at a level that rivals the early 70s genius on labels like Strata East or Impulse Records! Connors worked with many contemporaries on those labels, and gets ... LP, Vinyl record album

Art Farmer

Work Of Art
New Jazz, 1954. Very Good-
A great batch of material that Art Farmer recorded for Prestige in the early fifties. This is way before he got hyper-lyrical, and his playing is raw and hard on a bunch of Quincy Jones arrangements, including the savage cut "Mau-Mau", which features a very early use of the electric bass ... Archie Bell & The Drells

Tighten Up
Atlantic, 1968. Very Good-
An incredible bit of southern funk – the first landmark LP by Archie Bell & The Drells, and the first big burst of energy from the Texas scene of the 60s! The album's incredible – with Archie up front on rough-hewn vocals, the band grooving in a mad tangle of guitar, bass, and ... LP, Vinyl record album
