❔

The Numero Group turn their radio to yet another spot on the dial – this time around posing as a 70s AOR station, but working with their usual flair for rare and unreleased tunes! Given that the musical style is one that you're used to associating with big hits, it's great to hear music like this coming from deeper in the American underground – served up by artists who weren't trying to stand apart from the pack – just try to create their own top-shelf music in a relatively overlooked environment. Titles include "What A Way To Go" by Nanette, "Quick N Slick" by Orphans Of Love, "Wrap Myself Up In Your Arms" by Marshall Titus, "No Other Life Without You" by Greenflow, "Child Of December" by Larry Sanders, "You've Got A Woman" by Lion, "Take This To Heart" by Kettner & Shawe, "Waste Of Time" by Gary Hyde, and "You & Me Me & You" by Phillips.  © 1996-2019, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Orange vinyl pressing.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Numero, Late 60s/Early 70s. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
A great look at an obscure indie soul label from the Cleveland scene at the end of the 60s – and a company that's definitely a cut above, given that it released some early O'Jays singles in the years before their crossover fame in the 70s – and members of that group also wrote a fair ... Cluster

Cluster II
Brain (Germany), 1972. Very Good Gatefold
Heady work from Cluster – a record that really helped set the tone for a whole generation of German experimentation! The sound here is incredibly dense – guitar and keyboard parts that are processed heavily, looped back on themselves, and sometimes supported by a bit of electronics ... LP, Vinyl record album

Steely Dan

Greatest Hits
ABC, 1970s. Very Good 2LP Gatefold
We've always considered Steely Dan one of the quintessential 70s "Album Oriented Rock" bands, in that all of there albums work so well as a whole, so the idea of a greatest hits collection doesn't exactly work for us. Still, taken out of context, these songs are still gems, and listening ... LP, Vinyl record album

Boz Scaggs

Silk Degrees
Columbia, 1976. Very Good+
Blue-eyed soul from Boz Scaggs, with a decidedly Philly influenced sound to the production, which we'd hazard a guess comes more from the Hall & Oates side of town than the Sigma Sound axis. Still, this is a solid album with the irresistible hit "Lowdown", still a favorite around ... LP, Vinyl record album
