John Fahey Volume 2 – Death Chants, Breakdowns & Military Waltzes (medieval cover)

LP (Item 844032) Takoma, 1967 — Condition: Very Good+
A legendary 60s Takoma record by acoustic guitar pioneer John Fahey – served up at a time when he was very much in the throe of earlier influences from blues and folk, but already forging ahead into his own unique territory and style! This is Fahey's second proper album, but also has an unusual history of its own, with different versions over the years – and the set is already a really revolutionary album, one that is still as mindbending now as it was when recorded back in the 60s! Titles include "John Henry Variations", "The Downfall Of The Adelphi Rolling Grist Mill", "Take A Look At That Baby", "Dance Of The Inhabitants Of The Palace Of King Phillip XIV", "America", "Episcopal Hymn", "Sunflower River Blues", "When The Springtime Comes Again", "Stomping Tonight On The Pennsylvania/Alabama Border", "On The Beach At Waikiki", and "Spanish Dance".  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
