Mr Music

LP (Item 834696) London, 1966 — Condition: Very Good

...

Very Good

  • Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
  • May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean, and not too dirty.
  • May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play, but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep. Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
  • May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well, with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song, but never throughout a whole song or more.
  • This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times, but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Black Magic
Phase 4/London, 1976. Near Mint-
Amazing work from Stanley Black – honest! The album's far funkier and far more dynamic than most of Stanley's other albums in the past – and is a sweet electric 70s session with plenty of elements you'd expect to find in some of the Brit Easy or sound library albums of the time! Party's On Me
RCA, 1976. Near Mint-
Cy hits the funky 70s – grooving with some bigger orchestrations, and playing both acoustic and electric keyboards – in a mode that's kind of easy meets jazz meets disco! The sound is actually nice for Coleman – who was better off in a tighter studio session than a smaller freer ... LP, Vinyl record album

One of the coolest, grooviest moog albums you'll ever hope to buy – a wonderful foray into the new world of synthetic sounds, done by pianist Dick Hyman – who was working in a straight jazz format just a decade before! Voices In Rhythm
Reprise, 1962. Very Good+
Later work by Les – not as exotic as some of his Capitol sides, or his other work for Reprise, but more in the mode of his mid 50s pop instrumental work. The "voices in rhythm" are a vocal chorus that sings on the tracks – dreamily drifting in a moody way over Les' ... LP, Vinyl record album
Magic Beat!
Liberty/Premier, Early 60s. Near Mint- Gatefold
As the liner notes say, "The Magic Beat is not primitive or ritualistic. To the contrary, it emphasizes the more sophisticated and romantic aspects of rhythmic sorcery." We won't say more, except to tell you that tracks include "Fever", "Ziganette", "Lover" ... LP, Vinyl record album
Poe For Moderns
RCA, 1960. Near Mint-
Although Buddy Morrow's best known for his more crime-jazz and Night Train jazz work, this album's got him sounding surprisingly great in a set of tracks dedicated to the work of Edgar Allen Poe! Groovy pop orchestrations from one of the best bandleaders working at Verve in the late 60's. Sweet Verve sounds, with a mix of jazz, easy, and Brazilian sounds, and tracks like "Laia Ladaia", "Cinnamon & Clove", "The Look of Love", "Arrasto", and "B ... LP, Vinyl record album
