(Vinyl plays with a light 'swoosh' at the beginning of each side. Cover is great!)
Very Good
Vinyl can have some dirt, but nothing major.
May not shine under light, but should still be pretty clean,
and not too dirty.
May have a number of marks (5 to 10 at most), and obvious signs of play,
but never a big cluster of them, or any major mark that would be very deep.
Most marks should still not click under a fingernail.
May not look near perfect, but should play fairly well,
with slight surface noise, and the occasional click in part of a song,
but never throughout a whole song or more.
This is clearly a copy that was played by someone a number of times,
but which could also be a good "play copy" for someone new.
Additional Marks & Notes
If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially
if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record.
This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip,
cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.
With Dick Hyman on piano, Bobby Rosengarden on drums, Barney Bigard on clarinet, Paul Madison on tenor sax, and Pee Wee Erwin on trumpet. LP, Vinyl record album
One of the records that really put saxophonist Scott Hamilton on the map – a well-matched set with reedman Bob Wilber, and a date that has each player taking a different end of the sonic spectrum! Wilber blows alto, soprano, and clarinet – often with a style that maybe hints at trade, ... LP, Vinyl record album
With solos by Milt Hinton, Earl Hines, Joe Newman, Zoot Sims, Urbie Green, Buddy Tate, Lee Konitz, Vic Dickenson, Sal Nistico, and many others. LP, Vinyl record album
With Buck Clayton on trumpet, Vic Dickenson on trombone, Bud Freeman on tenor, Pee Wee Russell on clarinet, Dick Cary on piano and alto, Jack Lesberg on bass, Cliff Leeman on drums, and Jimmy Rushing on vocals. LP, Vinyl record album
Herbie Mann got a standing ovation for this performance – at least if the title is to be believed – and considering the grooves on the set, it was all for very good reason! The album's one of the few to feature Mann in the company of pianist Chick Corea – who steps out here with ... LP, Vinyl record album
A lesser-known Ellington set from the 60s – tracks from the lesser-remembered musical, with alto from Johnny Hodges, trumpet from Ray Nance, and tenor from Paul Gonsalves! Titles include "Our Children", "Nightlife", "I've Just Seen Her", "Back To ... LP, Vinyl record album
McCoy Tyner's a hell of a piano player on his own, but in the post-Coltrane years he also developed an amazing talent for picking sidemen too – as you'll hear in this very unique set! The record features four different quartets – hence the title – each of which features a core ... LP, Vinyl record album
The second great session from two of Verve's biggest jazz stars of the 60s – organist Jimmy Smith and guitarist Wes Montgomery – an unlikely pair, to be sure, but one who work great together on the set! The real change here is in Wes' playing – as it's shifted from the mellower ... LP, Vinyl record album
An excellent session of bossa groovers with a slightly classical tinge, played by Ray Brown on bass and Laurindo Almeida on guitar. The set's got a similar feel to some of Ray's other groovy work from the time – like his remake of Jobim's score to the Adventurers. Includes the great groover ... LP, Vinyl record album
