You'll Never Walk Alone/Decator Street

7-inch (Item 697361) Parkway, Mid 60s — Condition: Very Good+
Out Of Stock

7-inch, Vinyl record

Early work from Patti LaBelle, done in a very girl group style, with very young vocals, and kind of a popping organ style on both sides. Patti gets raw on the tracks, breaking over the top in a cool pleasing style that reminds us a lot of the best work by The Exciters from the time – especially on "Academy Award"!  © 1996-2022, Dusty Groove, Inc.

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Lamp, Early 70s. Very Good-
An obscure little group soul single – with a fairly heavy post-Temps sound on both sides, and raw production by Herb Miller that reminds us of some of the lesser-known groups on All Platinum. Karol, Early 70s. Fair
Nice group work from Chicago – produced by Clarence Johnson, who handled some of the best of the city's indie scene at the time! "I Am Somebody" is a slow, dark, righteous tune – one that steps along almost with a Norman Whitfield-esque sound, steeped in subtly political ... 7-inch, Vinyl record
