Bermuda Nights

LP (Item 646718) Atlantic, 1988 — Condition: Near Mint-

(Still in the shrink, with hype sticker.)

Near Mint - (minus)

  • Black vinyl that may show a slight amount of dust or dirt.
  • Should still be very shiny under a light, even with slight amount of dust on surface.
  • One or two small marks that would make an otherwise near perfect record slightly less so. These marks cannot be too deep, and should only be surface marks that won't affect play, but might detract from the looks.
  • May have some flaws and discoloration in the vinyl, but only those that would be intrinsic to the pressing. These should disappear when the record is tilted under the light, and will only show up when looking straight at the record. (Buddah and ABC pressings from the 70's are a good example of this.)
  • May have some slight marks from aging of the paper sleeve on the vinyl.
  • Possible minor surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Eddie Harris

Excursions
Atlantic, 1973. Near Mint- 2LP Gatefold
A super-long batch of messed-up funky jazz from Eddie Harris! The record's got Eddie working all aspects of the electric sax – in a similar style to some of his other work on the best Atlantic albums of the 70s (like Instant Death of Plug It In) – and the group features a shifting cast ... Charles Mingus

Mingus At Carnegie Hall
Atlantic, 1974. Near Mint-
Charles Mingus at Carnegie Hall – but playing here with relaxed and intimate feel that's not what you might expect from the staid setting! The album features 2 long tracks – both done in more of a jam session mode than any other Charles Mingus recordings we can think of. Both numbers ... LP, Vinyl record album

Rufus Harley

King/Queens
Atlantic, 1970. Very Good
One of Rufus Harley's beautiful albums for Atlantic, and a record that shouldn't work at all – but it does, and does so wonderfully! Harley plays bagpipes throughout the album – but in a way that sounds nothing like any of the snoozy Scottish assumptions you may have about the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Roland Kirk

Left & Right
Atlantic, 1969. Very Good
An undisputed classic – and a key turning point in the career of Roland Kirk! Sonny Fortune

Infinity Is
Atlantic, 1978. Near Mint-
A beautiful set from Sonny Fortune – a bit smoother than some of his earlier work, but still with a deeply soulful finish that keeps the album fresh throughout! A generous 1971 effort from Keith Jarrett – backed up by his incredible, multi-instrumentalist co-horts Dewey Redman (tenor sax, clarinet, bells, percussion and more), Charlie Haden (bass, congas, clappers, steel drum) and Paul Motion (drums and percussion). The pieces cover a pretty far ... LP, Vinyl record album

Hank Crawford

From The Heart
Atlantic, 1962. Very Good
Warm and laidback soul jazz from the great Hank Crawford – cut in a relaxed mode that makes the set feel like some of the late nite smokers on the Prestige label at the time! Ahmad Jamal

Rossiter Road
Atlantic, 1986. Very Good+
One of Ahmad Jamal's great mid 80s sets for Atlantic Records – recorded in a spacious acoustic mode that has Jamal crafting beautiful tones on the Steinway, yet never falling into overindulgence! The record's got a surprisingly rhythmic quality – as the drums of Herlin Riley and bass ... LP, Vinyl record album
Atlantic, 1976. Very Good+

Blowin' The Blues Away
Blue Note, 1959. Sealed
A killer session from Horace's famous quintet that included Blue Mitchell, Junior Cook, Gene Taylor, and Louis Hayes – one of the group's earliest recordings for Blue Note – and also one of their best! The band had a unique mix of rootsy soul jazz playing and more exotic approaches to ... LP, Vinyl record album

Charles Earland

Kharma
Prestige, 1975. Near Mint-
