❔
Early, groovy Badfinger! Magic Christian Music features a few tracks that Badfinger cut for the film The Magic Christian, some earlier material cut when they were The Iveys, and more recent recordings of the time like the Paul McCartney-penned hit "Come And Get It" – all around post psychedelic pop-rock par excellence. Other tracks include "Crimson Ship", "Dear Angie", "Midnight Sun", "Angelique", "Maybe Tomorrow" and more.  © 1996-2024, Dusty Groove, Inc.
(Apple pressing with Bell Sound/SF etch. Cover has light wear.)

Very Good + (plus)

  • Vinyl should be very clean, but can have less luster than near mint.
  • Should still shine under a light, but one or two marks may show up when tilted.
  • Can have a few small marks that may show up easily, but which do not affect play at all. Most marks of this quality will disappear when the record is tilted, and will not be felt with the back of a fingernail.
  • This is the kind of record that will play "near mint", but which will have some signs of use (although not major ones).
  • May have slight surface noise when played.

Additional Marks & Notes

If something is noteworthy, we try to note it in the comments — especially if it is an oddity that is the only wrong thing about the record. This might include, but isn't limited to, warped records, tracks that skip, cover damage or wear as noted above, or strictly cosmetic flaws.

Badfinger

Ass
Apple, 1973. Near Mint-
A rawer Badfinger emerges on Ass – self-produced with a no frills vibe that was apparently something of a controversial way for the boys to record at the time, as Apple initially rejected it. It sounds like great rock & roll to us! Sweet melodies and tuneful songs are still the order of ... LP, Vinyl record album
Capitol/Apple, 1967. Very Good- Gatefold
Hard to deny the lasting power of this crucial album from The Beatles – a set that unleashed some of their trippiest sounds and most tender moments too! The mix of wit and honesty is wonderful – and the sonic range is dynamic as the archetypal cover image – a package that's had ... LP, Vinyl record album

Beatles

Let It Be
Apple, 1970. Sealed
A bittersweet farewell from The Beatles – a record that definitely shows the fracturing unity of the group, with lots of near-solo moments – but a set that also makes us really wonder what they'd have done with all this genius, had they managed to hold it together! There's great hints ... LP, Vinyl record album

Paul McCartney & Wings

Band On The Run
Apple, 1973. Very Good
One of the most brilliant moments of genius from Paul McCartney & Wings – and a set that has Paul working with the group in perfect album formation – able to craft enough songs that became hit singles, yet also fit the whole thing together in a superb sonic reality that made the ... John Lennon

Rock N Roll
Apple, 1975. Near Mint-
John Lennon revisits the rock and roll canon after years of emotionally charged solo material – a move that was partially imposed by legal necessity, but got even more messed up from there – culminating a solid, set of pure Rock N Roll in '75! Includes sessions produced by Lennon in ... LP, Vinyl record album

John Lennon & Yoko Ono with The Plastic Ono Band

Live Peace In Toronto
Apple, 1969. Near Mint-
The earliest incarnation of the Plastic Ono band, and more or less a one off, with an all-star line up that included Eric Clapton and Klaus Voorman alongside Lennon and Ono. One side of the rootsy rock that was the old school Beatles stock in trade, and one side of Yoko Ono doing her thing on the ... LP, Vinyl record album

Tony Joe White

Tony Joe White
Warner, 1971. Near Mint- Gatefold
Tony Joe White's terrific self-titled set for Warner in '71 – his swamp rock mastery in full swing by this point, and all the cooler on a record that finds hip working with some occasional horns and lush bits of strings! There was really no finessing the grit out of the Tony Joe show, so the ... LP, Vinyl record album
London, 1970. Near Mint-
A landmark live set from the Rolling Stones – featuring material from their smoking tour of 1969! The set really captures the Stones at their most nasty – that great turning point when their edge was maybe sharpest of ever, right in the best Let It Bleed mode – but with even more ... RCA, 1974. Near Mint-
Mick Ronson's first and probably best solo album – '74's Slaughter On 10th Avenue – an adventurous set of glam pop that's both weird and catchy, naturally featuring some fantastic guitar pyrotechnics.
